Will Smith just put up Logan Cooley D-1 numbers and I think he could still end up being like the 8th center off the board in 2023. Not forward - center.

This draft is so stacked as of now, I think all we need is about the 12OA to get a center prospect with a better resume than Kasper.

You mean a center prospect better than Wright.

The top third of the 1st round all look like legitimate 1st line types. Fantilli looks like a plus level version of Schiefele, and he's going to be the 3rd or 4th prospect off the board.

Carlsson looks like a draisaitl lite.

Or Sundin-lite. He had 3 goals and 9 points in his D-1 in the SHL. That's the 2nd most ever by a player in their D-1 in the SHL. The most was Daniel Sedin with 12 points in 10 more games.

I think he's going to be one of those very rare 17-18 year old SHL players that scores at a high pace during his draft year.

Sure, but the point I was trying to make is that we can get a worse pick than this year and yet end up with a “better” center.

Leo Carlsson and Kalle Carlsson both look impressive for next year. Best center talent coming out of Sweden in awhile, IMO.

The WHL class looks unreal, could be one of the best classes from that league ever.

It's a Wheeler article, but these are good names to keep an eye on.

Wheeler: Early look at the top 26 prospects for the 2023 NHL Draft

Connor Bedard
Matvei Michkov
Adam Fantilli
Zach Benson
Leo Carlsson
Dalibor Dvorsky
Calum Ritchie
Charlie Stramel
Brayden Yager
Riley Heidt
Oliver Moore
Quentin Musty
Will Smith
Matthew Wood

To name a few. I'm really interested in Dalibor Dvorsky and Charlie Stramel too. From what I've seen of those guys they could also be legitimate 1st line talents.

Another name to look for is Nate Danielson on the wheat kings. Pretty excited for him too

Michkov , Buchelnikov teammate going to be available for us .
Our future second line
Buchelnikov Kasper Michkov
Raymond Larkin Bertuzzi
Bergreen Rasmussen Vrana

Im not sure if it’s been said, but it looks like Chicago may be going full tank. I’m not too huge into conspiracy but i wouldnt be shocked if they “won” the Bedard lottery 😉

The lottery odds are much better now so more than likely. It's fine, Chicago has an empty cupboard from what I see. Regula is their 4th best prospect prior to this draft

I’d be somewhat disappointed if we drafted Michkov with what might be our last top 10/15 pick for a minute. IIRC, he can’t come over til 2026, and we can’t bank on being set a center just because we have Kasper. Give me a Zetterberg or Modano by 2024 and you can have your Ovechkin.

Big, physical, skilled RHD who skates well to replace Hronek in the top-4 when his contract expires would be ideal.

Right-handed forward would obviously be a big point of emphasis too. Or even a left-handed center, as Kasper actually projects as a Bertuzzi-like (+ a little more skill and defense) wing if a better play-making center is introduced to the top-6.

Lukas Dragicevic is probably the best looking RD with size. Brzustewicz is interesting but he's on the small side.

I want my slightly undersized so often overlooked, shifty, pass-first, cerebral center who already plays defense at a high level. Someone tell me who that is
