So you didnt read the posts, jumped into a conversation without the context and then tried to tell me what I was saying despite telling you that wasnt it multiple times? Awesome

I'm reading what youre saying. What youre saying doesnt make a point to the actual conversation because you were too lazy to actually read it. Awesome contribution, too bad we cant have more posters like you.

Me saying you can find top 6 players of every play style later in the draft is not just hindsight drafting, its a literal fact and I provided examples of it. Me saying people need to not fall in love with certain play styles and focus on effective hockey players later in the draft isnt hindsight drafting, its a smart strategy that thankfully Yzerman/Draper use.

Thats my last reply though, hopefully you can wrap your head around that this time
LOL, if an argument doesn't make sense then it doesn't make sense. The original context doesn't matter if you're referring to current NHL players.

Of course you can find players of every style later in the draft, the entire point is that it's low chance of success and that's why teams don't pick certain players early n the draft, especially your example of a junior A player. You're cherry picking because for every junior A player drafted that succeeds, there's literally a hundred that never sniff the NHL. Your examples are total hindsight drafting.

I was afraid of McKenzies rankings. My 1,2,and 3 choices are ranked 6,7,and 8. I guess it’s Moore for me. And Wallinder at 17.

Bobs rankings arent a mock draft obviously, but they had Benson at 9 and Honzek at 17. I wouldnt hate that haul in the first round at all
Both 2-4 years away from NHL, if we get them , don't rush

Happy as long as it is one of Dvorsky, Benson, Leonard, or Reinbacher.

I have been teetering the last week or two between Dvorsky and Benson. I was all in on Dvorsky, but now I am leaning more towards benson, but keep flip flopping. I would most likely choose Leonard over both, but I don't think he get's past Arizona or Philly tbh. Reinbacher only because he is considered the best D in the draft (RHD at that) and we need that in the pipeline.

Would much rather go with the offensive center/wingers at 9. But can understand Rainbacher if available.

Good news for you, if we make a pick at 9, it’s guaranteed one of those guys will be there! We can’t lose!

<insert Yzerman off the board pick music>

Oh god!

I’d love if Yzerman actually set up the Stone Cold track with the shattering glass. With how calm his demeanor is, to see him strut to the stage and throw up middle fingers to the crowd and have the crowd throw up middle fingers back.

Better yet, Bettman walks up instead of Danny Briere..

“I have a trade to announce, the Philadelphia Flyers have agreed to send the 7th overall pick to…”

CRASH!

Yzerman stomps out from behind the curtain…

Barry Melrose “Oh my God!! That’s Steve Yzerman's music!!!”

edited to continue to obvious narrative:

Yzerman walks back and forth, staring down the crowd eventually settling in front of a shocked and terrified Gary Bettman before extending his hand out for a hand shake, Gary cautiously accepts only to be pulled into a Steve Yzerman Stunner. Rolling up off his back, angrily shouting at the other GMs in attendance, promptly drafts himself, pounds two beers from his pockets together in a glorious foam cacophony, flicks off the crowd, and leaves the stage.

I don't expect we get any LD , first and probably second round RD . Yzerman will try draft bigger guys. Guys who likes to shoot and guys who plays physical game

It's funny that this narrative is never brought up when talking about Bedard though, not sure why. Bedard is a center and his defensive involvement is minimal and his defensive skills have been hard to judge for me as a result. I don't understand why this criticism that is only brought up when talking about Michkov (again, not targeting you in particular, just the general opinion).

He was a winger at the World Juniors with McTavish at centre swatting the flies off his back. Seems better than Stamkos was at a younger age. How does someone get that much flex out of the stick?

So many rumors about Anaheim lmao...

Today I saw that they were taking Michkov; yesterday, I saw they were going to go with Carlsson. I think they'll go Fantilli, but it should be a fun draft

I read the same thing you did. They lacked context.

The reporter said he got a text message outlining a scenario where ANA took Michkov. They reported it in the most wrong possible way. He didn't actually say ANA is looking to pick him, it was just a hypothetical.

Should be good show , one of those guys we probably take in 17.

With how Honzek was saying he had his best interview with the Wings and DET wanting Centers (we love big centers now?) I am confident that our picks should be:

#9 - Dvorsky (size at center)/Benson (High IQ+skills)
#17 - Honzek/Willander/Danielson/ASP/Wood

I wouldn't exactly be shocked if at #17 we choose someone completely off board or someone different than what I mentioned; however, if any of these players are available at 9/17, I am pretty sure we will pick one of them.

TBH, this may be the first draft where I watch and not get "upset" or "irritated" at whoever we pick. Last couple years (actually from Seider to now) I have always been like "WTF are you doing Stevie" and for the past 4 years, he has done nothing but draft bangers in the first round.

Dare I say that I trust the Yzerplan, finally??
