Hertl could have, I mean he had a whole month to rest and spend time with family. And he will have another time after WC is over.Zacha can f*** ***, but I am disappointed with Hertl.
Exactly. And unlike Zacha, he does tend to turn up when asked.Hertl could have, I mean he had a whole month to rest and spend time with family. And he will have another time after WC is over.
Hertl was playing several times at the WCH. He just wanted to have a spring time for himself and him family this time. He has a right to that. The WCH is every year and it is a fun, entertaining, but not exactly the elite hockey competition. I am pretty sure he will come to the Prague tournament next year if he's available.Hertl could have, I mean he had a whole month to rest and spend time with family. All of this is (for me atleast) really asking questions of how much of a work is Havlat actually doing. I mean did he even tried to convince the guys? Or was it like "you wanna go? no? .. well okay, bye" type of convincingExactly. And unlike Zacha, he does tend to turn up when asked.
I would not say anything if he had to go straight from SC playoff to WCH like day to day. But cmon he got a whole month to relax, WCH is only two weeks, he will also have time to relax after it. I am sure that the preseason doesnt start the moment SC playoff ends, and those guys are starting every season with knowing they can play till half of June.Hertl was playing several times at the WCH. The boys have arrived! It occurs to me that I have no idea who our PP Dman is?
Friday's game against Slovakia will be HUGE for placement. Hope it isn't like the U18 where we get outplayed and look awful!
I knew about Knot, he said in some interview a while ago, that he is too old for this and he wants to play rather in "home" environment, where his family is close. Klok not commenting. Its shame of Galvas I think he could give it at least one more season.Knot has signed for 3 years in Extraliga... another guy that tried NHL, got stuck in AHL and returned! Galvas too. Klok too. Bad season for our D trying to crack NHL rosters!
Honestly, anyone who saw Knot here in those preseason games must be clear to him that he doesn't belong in the NHL.Knot has signed for 3 years in Extraliga... another guy that tried NHL, got stuck in AHL and returned! Galvas too. Klok too. Bad season for our D trying to crack NHL rosters!
I'd take Palat though! I like Vanecek but it is not going well for him in playoffs.I just hope that they don't start calling for Vaněček to come maybe soon

Palat and Faksa can be our last additions to our team I'd say
(Gudas and Necas are leading 3:0/3:1, Kampf has no contract after this season and Vanecek is lost in last days).
So go Canes and Krakens
And we'll probably start like this:

Splitting it up... it's a pipedream but if Palat and Faksa joined then we'd have one of the best forward groups in the tourney! Chlapik or Smejkal to bottom 6 to make room for Palat. Faksa would give us great C depth! Chytil, Spacek, Faksa, Cernoch and Sobotka is beautiful depth for a tourney like this.Palat and Faksa can be our last additions to our team I'd say

I love games!Let's play a prediction game: Top 3 Point Predictions for the tournament for Czech players?
Feel free to add any reasoning also if needed.
Example:
1. Cervenka 3+11 = 14 pts
2. Spacek 4+7 = 11 pts
3. Kubalik 6+3 = 9 pts
That's a good point about Cervenka's production last year. However, he showed again in the recent EHT that he's really got what it takes to put up those numbers. Let's hope for yet another brilliant show. And with Spacek, I really like him too, I'm hoping that the PP will click nicely from day one.I love games!
1. Chytil 5 + 5
2. Kubalik 4 + 3
3. Cervus 1 + 6
Cervus had Pasta and Krejci for large chunks of last years tourney. Curious if he can have similar success with guys not on that level?
Hope you're right about Spacek! Love that guy!
Oh yeah, D scoring...
Kundratek 2 points
Kostalek 2 points
Zboril 2 points
Knot 2 points
Kempny 1 point
Jordan 1 point
Dvorak 1 point
Nemecek 1 point
I'm not expecting many points from our D at all (Svozil probably could've been on our PP since Jiricek, Klok and Hronek were unavailable but I digress)
Well its hard with Hrubec, he clearly had a good season in Switzerland and so far he was good in prep matches. But that being said I would also want to Vejmelka be in the net and be a 1st goalie. I would also take basically any other NHL goalie or Stezka over Hrubec, but we know that that wasnt possible (contracts, injuries).Simon Hrubec speculated to be the starter against Slovakia.
lol can't make this up. A goalie who should have been shot into the sun after last year's olympics, where he put up possibly the worst goaltending perfomace by a Czech at a major tournament in history, and he is likely to be a starter at the WHC only a year later.
Definitely not Vanecek. He must be at rock bottom psychologically after his recent disasters.Well its hard with Hrubec, he clearly had a good season in Switzerland and so far he was good in prep matches. On the other hand I dont know If I would take Vanecek over Hrubec if he became available honestly. He is in terrible form and his numbers in PO are scary lol
Vanecek is overrated, backup level goaltender who got his numbers boosted by the team in front of him. In the playoffs he is just getting exposed.Well its hard with Hrubec, he clearly had a good season in Switzerland and so far he was good in prep matches. As a man of science, I can assure you that you have fallen victim to a very popular bias among sports fans - the dredded small sample bias.Vanecek is overrated, backup level goaltender who got his numbers boosted by the team in front of him. In the playoffs he is just getting exposed.
But Hrubec is worse and I don't care about his club stats. When he does that at the NHL level we can talk. He has been a 'dominant' Europe-based goalie for 7 years now and hasn't shown anything at the international level. Just mediocrity topped with that abysmal Olympic showing.
