I guess my point is that for me Merzlikins is a lateral move. If you can't make a proper upgrade over Georgiev, why bother. For me the only enticing options in this regard are Saros and Askarov from Nashville. Now Askarov would be more of a bet for the future, but he is very highly regarded and I would be willing to take that risk. But I don't think either of those guys is realistic.
What we do need, is someone who's capable of backing up Georgiev. His workload needs to be lightened. A guy not making more than 1,5m, if even that. I just don't know if anything like that is doable, plenty of teams are looking.
