There are still a lot of adventures in the defensive zone, I think they are worried that he is going to have a goal-costing mistake without giving enough thought to his offense creating positives that exceed the defensive mistakes.

They just don't have enough offensive talent up front and they have somebody that can be a big difference maker creating offense on the back-end.

NHL coaches by-in-large are very risk averse.

Fiala last year was a much better version because of less bone headed plays both penalties and turnovers. He's still the most dynamic forward the kings have had since palffy. He makes mistakes but he can singlehandedly create offense.
