Killorn-Carlsson-Terry
Vatrano-McTavish-Strome
Henrique-Zegras-Silf
Johnston-Carrick-Leason

Don't love Silf on the third line, he at least provides a good defensive forward on that line but I think the 2nd and 4th lines are working well and wouldn't want to break them up at this point.

I've said it in another thread, but I'd like to see a move for Garland. He'd be a nice addition to the third line, good for 40-50 points a season and given Vancouver's cap squeeze we should be compensated decently to get him. Plus it would allow us to move Henrique at the deadline if we choose without destroying our depth.

That would be a massive FU to Z. He's currently the superior player and a better fit on a line with Carlsson than Terry is.

11 - 91 - 17
77 - 23 - 16
33 - 14 - 19

IMO/YMMV.

Ya if you’re actually rewarding players for doing what they are asked zegras should get the look with carlsson.

Terry has also showed he plays well with Henrique in the past.

When Killer gets back have some decisions to make. Verbeek didn’t give him 6 million to play on the 3rd line.

May see a 1-2-3 punch of Leo, Z, and Mac down the middle? Would not break up the Mac line. It’s now becoming a thing, 8 games in all those guys are a PPG or higher, and are one of the best lines in the league now.

Killorn - Leo - Terry
Vatrano - McTavish - Strome
Henrique - Zegras - ????

Remember Z produced with guys like Carrick, Grant, and Des. He needs his own line to drive. That top line will look good but they will still struggle to score doing much. Killorn compliments the other two players.

Can Henrique play RW? Could call up Regenda since he’s been playing well and slot him on the line. Then we don’t have to break up the 4th line.

I think he can only play on his left Strome is mostly on his right side. Vatrano though can play either wing.

Z needs puck retrievers, I'd put Killorn with him. Leo and Terry seem to have some chemistry so I'd leave those two together. Ideally they have someone strong and fast on their wing...I dunno I liked Carrick there but there are other options.

Henrique-Carlsson-Terry
Vatrano-McTavish-Strome
Killorn-Zegras-Silfverberg
Johnston-Carrick-Leason

The ducks have a gaping need for a right winger with skill on that Zegras line
These were my exact thoughts. Supposedly Tor is actually still shopping Nylander. UT not sure I believe that. Killorn can play RW. So maybe the blue give up Buchnevich?

The eye test matches this line. They are just not having the best of puck luck.

It’s unfortunate Leo likely won’t play tomorrow. I feel it hurts that lines chemistry.
Hoping he draws in, I know his favorite player is Crosby and I imagine he’d really enjoy getting to play against him. Not that I expect Verbeek to take that into account, just hoping for Leo’s case he gets to play tomorrow.

I like this but I would switch Leason and Silf. I know the 4th line has been good but I see more potential in that spot with Leason than Silf.
I have not wanted to disrupt the 4th line but a Killorn-Zegras-Leason line might be worth a try. I would like to see more of a scorer with Z than Leason, but for now I’d rather see Zegras at center.

The Silfverberg/Jones dilemma is a real concern. Putting Henrique with Carlsson may kickstart his season and help his value at the TDL.

There needs to be a reckoning with the “players are too good for the 3rd line” myth. If you have potentially (3) 1C centers it is stupid to try and convert one to wing without at least running a solid 3rd line.

The easy solution is to just rotate the roster lines every game so they are all “officially” the first line at any given time.

Silfverberg just had a really good game, and a decent game the one before that. Let’s maybe see how he does a few more before burying him in the AHL, the 3rd line looked good yesterday. Henrique deciding to go on one of his effective streaks helps too.

Damn dude, I know the 4th line isn't great but you don't have to call them the AHL.

When Killorn returns, then we have a puck retriever for Z-Terry line whenever Carlsson is not in the lineup. When Carlsson is back in, then Carlsson is that puck retriever.

Z-Carlsson-Terry (youth line)
Vatrano-Mac-Strome (2 goats and a kid line)
Killorn-Rico-Silf (vet line)
Carrick-Groulx-Leason (4th line with 2 PK centers and FO specialists)

Geez... out is Jones and Johnston! Things could get even worse when Lundestrom returns!

Also, I think our defense does a good job of puck retrieving in the DZ and hopefully continues to get better. We probably don't praise our d-play enough.

I think killorn and carlsson become a thing for the entirety of killorns contract. The veteran sand paper sniper who’s always been a complimentary piece in killorn is something that will be a good thing for both.

Really don’t know what you do when Drysdale is back, I like the Fowler-LaCombe, Minty-Bush, and Vak-Gudas pairings a lot

Yeah it’s a good problem to have, last year we had too many 6 and 7’s playing in Top 4 roles. This year we have several kids looking like potential Top 4 guys, some top pairing potential in Minty and Drysdale. Plus they have some nice vet support this year as well. Which was really lacking last season.

I expect to have up and downs all season so there will be opportunity to change things around, unless we go on some kinda 10 game winning streak, then cool. Lol.
