We have three rookies to watch for this season with Carlsson, Minchy, and LaCombe. I wonder who will net more points between Carlsson and Minchy. As for the rookie with the most points this year, I think it'll be a battle between Bedard and Cooley.

I wonder if Minty get's the same "load management" approach as what is reported to be going to take place with Leo.

"Day to day" means "plan the funeral".

So here is the 25k dollar question.

How the hell so we fix the PP, other than shooting Brown to the moon?

What is the ideal situation? 1A and 1B or just front load the top unit and give them well over a min of PP time?

Who does what on the unit? Front net presence?

New Coach would be the best thing to fix it. Not sure why he wasnt yeeted with Eakins.

Right now though we only have a limited amount of high end talent so I would put it all in the 1st PP and hope they can score.

PP1
Carlsson(behind the net)
Zegras(half wall left side)
McTavish(half wall right side)
Terry (bumper slot)
Mintyukov(Quarterback)

PP2
Strome(behind the net)
Henrique(half wall left side
Vatrano(half wall right side)
Fowler(bumper slot)
Drysdale(quarterback)

Give it a try

We have enough skill and talent to be icing a Top 10 PP in the league.

Our guys are going to stall anywhere from 50-70 points without a good PP. Most players in the league have anywhere from 25-30% of their production from the PP. Some even more. Jack Hughes has 10 points already , 7 of them were from the PP, crazy!

Our PP personnel are a little weird because we have 3 guys that in theory should be on the right half wall to be most effective (Z, Mac, Leo) and nobody that's a really great net front guy. I think what makes the most sense is having Minty and Z rotate between the left wall and top of the umbrella, with Terry in the bumper and Mac on the wall for his one timer, but that net front spot is a little awkward. It really sucks that Comtois flamed out the way he did, he was so good in front of the net before he forgot how to play hockey.

We might as well be sad for not having Perry as our front net presence anymore. His glory days is almost as old as the fluke year that lazy bastard comtois had

Lure Geoff Ward back into the NHL and Ducks, provided his personal stuff has been addressed. Ward left for personal reasons during the summer of 2022.

I think putting Leo in front of the net is pretty much how bad this PP is run in a nutshell. Yeah he is tall but taking away his strengths by doing that.

It’s so frustrating. We could easily see more wins with even a decent PP. Screw Top 10, just need a decent one, Lol

We did put Mac in front of the net when Mac was part of the PP1 unit. It doesn't make sense to have your best one-timing sniper not use this one-timing sniper talent. Unfortunately, getting regulated to the PP2 without Rico on it didn't help the PP2 unit.

It seems as though we're gonna have to rely on our d-man to "do something". If the other team is running man on the PK, then we make the pointmen pinch and weave to create confusion. If the other team is playing zone, then we have to move the puck faster by passing, not by carrying it around - basically like playing European soccer, hold the ball for less than second to a second. We don't necessarily need a big guy to be in the crease, but someone willing to get the punishment to be in the crease.

Yeah I would have maybe Rico take care of front net presence on PP1 , so we have Mac able to take those shots, which are lethal.

It means someone will have to go to the 2nd unit. Can’t run 5 forwards. So is it Terry, Leo, or Z? Who moves to the 2nd unit?

I know this a novel concept, but maybe the starting positions on the PP wouldn’t matter as much if they actually cycled and moved instead of stayed stationary. There is hardly any movement at all and this is why they’re not creating any opportunities in my opinion.

My guess is that they have been waiting to have Killorn/Carlsson and now Drysdale back to see what they'll actually be working with. Right now we have a PP1 and that's it.

Even if that's the case, he has to be better than Groulx or whoever we are icing for the PP2 these days lol

Well yeah but I want to clear the air that Killorn is going to be good at ES, but his penalty killing should really help though. The PP for him though is meh.
