That bottom 6 is just horrendous. As bad as last year if not worse. I understand there are a couple key players injured but Jesus Christ. To be honest that 2nd line is woof too
Starting the year missing two top six guys is going to scuff any lineup, especially ours where we don't have any forward depth.

Also having basically four rookies on the blueline (LaCombe/Luneau/Minty and JD who hasn't played hockey in a year), there's going to be a lot of growing pains.

I think most teams would struggle with losing 2 top 6 forwards at the same time. We can't look at our roster as if it was healthy. Yes every team has injuries but most teams don't have extra top 6 players playing on their 3rd line. Strome and Vatrano are actually quite good depth.

I agree on the blueline.

Perhaps Leason spent all off season reading these boards and made it his life's mission to prove hfducks wrong.
I hope he succeeds. hahah. Not going to hold my breath though.

I’m hoping he’s just a big guy and took an extra couple of years to physically mature.
He plays with a lot of pace. Cronin says he wants the duck players to “ be hunting” he does fit that kind of mold. As Cronin says “ it’s not in his dna” as far as being physical. But tenacity while playing sets a good bar

The problem with the defense is that none of the RD belong anywhere near top pairing duties. Neither does Fowler without another top pairing (and physical) guy. Which means everyone on the right side is going to likely be playing above where they ought to be, meaning the defense is going to get caved in repeatedly until they get used to all new partners and systems, and then likely they’re going to just be bad. The left side also doesn’t have a legit 2nd pairing guy yet either.

Better than last year is still bad.
They have to outscore their problems, which I think will work. Sometimes. When healthy. If the PP is decent.

I have no idea who’s available, but it needs to be someone with size.
I suppose Bertuzzi could be a fit there. At least ufa. Can't see Stamkos leaving and not sure what he he'll have left at 35. Nylander is always talked about but he's not that sizable. Boeser is not too tall but has some decent mass. I guess boeser a d Nylander are actually pretty similar I'm build.

Usually every season 1/2 higher profile wingers for whatever reason become trade targets around the league. Let’s just hope it’s a larger skilled forward out East that we can bring home to anaheim

Only matters if he wins some
Fights!!

I wouldn't be shocked if we tried, but I doubt he would come here unless we give him an outrageous amount of money. If the Leafs can't keep him, then I think he's going to Carolina.
Can't see Carolina giv8ng him tons of money. I actually see him in Chicago.
The savings let's Tor keep Burtuzzi and Domi.
