I also like that Mac is taking his ride on the accountability train.I’m shocked to say it but that 3rd line has been really fun
As slow as he is, Silf probably has a lot about defense he could teach MasonI also like that Mac is taking his ride on the accountability train.
Last chanceGroulx can't say he wasn't given a chance.
From the expiring contracts I assume McLaughlin will be gone, Tracey hasn't exactly made himself indispensable either but who knows. Guessing they keep Nesterenko and Regenda around. The forwards will be squeezed. There's more room on D with only Helleson and Hinds likely to return among prospects. As I work through this mock off season exercise, I'm noticing that we are facing a potential over abundance of pro prospects for next year. May need to look at moving out some prospect depth to make room.
D Luneau
Warren
Dionico
Smith
F Hvidston
Myatovic
Pitre
Sidorov
All eight are 04 born CHL players, who will have fulfilled their junior obligations after this season and are AHL eligible for next year. There's also possibly Colangelo incoming as well.
Luneau likely makes the NHL to stick, Dionico can be stashed overseas. The rest should probably be AHL bound, just a matter of whether we have room in SD for six/seven new rookies next year.

I agree, so the parade of injuries to Perreault really stinks because he was really starting to come around IMO. Was tilting the ice at times. Hopefully he comes back and stays on track this season, no idea what his injury is.Yeah I amended upon further reflection because it's really more of just a F logjam at this point. I see about 2-3 too many pro forward prospects as it stands. Could see Verbeek dealing out some of the guys drafted before his tenure.
Another dude who’s always injured it seems. He will have trade value. He’s a little guy to boot. He will be packaged out of town.I agree, so the parade of injuries to Perreault really stinks because he was really starting to come around IMO. Was tilting the ice at times. Not sure that we currently have room in SD for five rookie pro forwards, something is going to have to give.

Assuming you want to have three or four veteran types around on the AHL roster, there just isn't room for all these guys. Maybe someone like Sidorov is a candidate to loan overseas to a good men's league for the next year or two. It's not to his benefit to go back and continue playing against kids, but I'm not sure we would have top 9 AHL time for him either. Find him a spot where he can learn to adapt his game to playing against men.
What I'm ultimately getting at, I think it may be time to move at least one Perreault/Tracey type by this summer, if it's a trade that can benefit the team's future.
The Ducks don't play for another 8 days. Sending Zellweger down lets him get 2 Gulls games and the AHL All-star experienceUmmmmm.?

Don't have a game for over a week......Winning too much... got to send Zell back to the AHL...
Looks like he'll be back in the lineup next game
