I’m starting to think Zamula might stink. Makes a big mistake on the puck or mentally almost every game.

That being said - I’m happy we have tape on him, that’s how this is supposed to go!

His skating is a lot worse than expected at NHL level I think. He was never a great skater but tbh he looked a lot faster at lower levels. I guess some of that is that he has/had a pretty good DZ IQ when vs worse opponents so was slightly ahead of the play.

Really one of the slowest players in the league and I think means gets caught out of position too often.

Now, he has also been a "passable" NHL Dman this season. BUT in this context passable is like ~#6 level.

I’ve been saying this for a while.

Zamula makes some good plays — creates space for himself in the o-zone, gets shots through, uses his reach to poke away pucks.

But he makes too many bad plays. And he’s also slow.

I don’t think the good outweighs the bad.

Probably has a little trade value based on size & stats, though. I’d cash him in.

lol “not a volume shooter”

Is this chart supposed to be a criticism? Because it’s loaded with terrific players.

If he's going to be a selfish one-trick-pony he should probably get better at that one trick.

Would they trade Staal if someone was willing to buy or offer him extension instead?
Absolutely. It is interesting that management spoke to players today to discuss the ongoing situation with regard to potential trade discussions. Players know where they stand and for sure if a team offers the right deal, the Flyers will listen. Very few players are untouchable, but it helps to be coy when playing the role of upper management this time of year.

There is a handful of pending UFA defenders who seem likely to get big money: Hanifin, Forsling, Skjei, Montour, Pesce.

Rephrasing a question I asked yesterday. Is Walker much better than most of RD leftovers: DeMelo, Gostisbehere, Roy, Dumba, Tanev, Stecher, Carrier, Miller, Chatfield? If the Flyers feel that their internal options aren't attractive, these are players who I think will probably sign for relatively low term and salary.

id much rather go with an AHL option and a leftover for less term and AAV for sure

Deslauriers has now been outscored 44-22 at ES as a Flyer. 14 ESP in 128 games.

Hathaway is even worse at 24 goals to 11. 5 ESP in 56 games.

Crazy how little value a team can get for $4m+ spent on two 4th liners.
Any chance you have the metrics for Hath with and without 44
