what i find...we'll call it interesting about all the people enjoying that they are playing well and how Torts did this and that..these fans don't A. want to see they are overachieving and 2. Do not want to hear/answer about sustainability in the future

sure you do not have to tank to get good again but you need to hit on higher-end skill players..which you aren't gonna get picking 15 or later
they never were and are still arent rebuilding..

all they have done is placate Torts whims..if near cutoff they are close to POs or in. they will 100% shift to buying.

"the players deserve it"..

Any additions should come from internal options. I'm more concerned about the ability to get rid of guys currently on the roster. Laughton, Deslauriers, Poehling, Staal need to go. There are players that could be brought up from LV that would easily replace them-Attard, Deslauriers, Laczynski and Allison.
Moving out Hart makes sense. There are several teams that need NHL level goal tending right now. Ersson as the top guy backed up by Sandstrom would work. Hart is going to want more money in his next deal than he is worth to the club.
At this point the major decision is what to do about Walker-sign him or deal him. It looks like they want to keep him.
"Get out of here Deslauriers, so we can bring up Deslauriers..."
Man just wait till you hear Big D is already on the team... he's a main stay...

@Appleyard Loved this thread. I can't help but to think about what Jones said "different ways to skin a cat" in terms of acquiring a #1 D-Man. I feel like they'll go the trade route if that guy isn't Bonk.

Also wouldn't shock me if this team goes big name hunting in the next two years, just random names:

Quinn Hughes, one of the Toronto core pieces, Draisatl, Brady Tkachuk, Keller, Werenski - just spitballing but Jones has said it repeatedly.

Something to think about

Crazy that 35 year old Giroux has been playing as well as 26 year old Konecny. And what do the 10th ranked Flyers really need for the next season and a half? A 1st line LW who can also run a top PP unit.

Giroux: 108 GP, 44 G (35 ES), 60 A (38 ES), 104 P (72 ES) - (0.96 P/GP)

Konecny: 90 GP, 47 G (34 ES), 39 A (28 ES), 86 P (59 ES) - (0.96 P/GP)

I put up a trade proposal: Giroux for Frost + Florida's 2024 1st. Right now that would be pick #22.

Foerster-Couturier-Konecny
Tippett-Giroux-Brink
Farabee-Poehling-Atkinson
Cates-Laughton-Hathaway

Briere has every chance to be worse than Fletcher.

We just haven’t had a reason to see it yet.

He’s said to have been behind the Deslauriers deal. The reported Sanheim/Krug scenario, and not selling high on Laughton.

Even if we take his biggest flaw out of the picture of refusing to fire ANYONE, he’s arguably worse than Chuck.

Just give him time to show it.

Of course, no GM runs the Flyers. That’s clear as hell. Its collaboration for all of those incompetent rats.
