It is endlessly entertaining to read the complaints about how they don’t have transition Forwards when some of us have been saying it was alarmingly de-prioritized for a good 4+ years. Please don’t read this as I told you so. I don’t give a shit about that. It’s the pattern of denying these things are happening in real time and then acting surprised and treating it as a key observation when they can’t dig out of the grave that they openly dug.

Basically, please have an ounce of self awareness. That would be lovely. Thank you for your time.

De-prioritized is putting it lightly. From top to bottom they demonstrated open scorn of such things. When players possessed such skills they'd describe them as a thing that needs to be "fixed."

Those people are still in charge.

Who is "those people."

Flahr drafted Brink
Briere/Flahr drafted Michkov, Barkey, Ciernak, traded for Rizzo.

They've recognized the need for more speed and skill, Tippett, Poehling certainly have speed.
Torts definitely values speed over size.
York, Andrae, Bonk are all mobile, puck handling D-men. So is Walker who they picked up. And Grans.

Like baseball, it takes time to turn a franchise around in the NHL, 3-5 years from draft to NHL for most players who do make it.

Hmmm

They unloaded Ghost, Jake and Giroux and got back no one that has any business playing on a top pp unit.

It’s basically comedy at this point. The only thing that’s making me laugh even harder is that they, a bottom 10 (probably 5) NHL team, has to use LTIR to carry a spare Dman.

Can’t grasp the importance of the pp, have no clue what it means to weaponize cap space, and don’t get me started on their method for hiring coaches and developmental staff.

Just wait until Rocky Thompson gets promoted to head coach, despite a historically bad Powerplay, once Torts moves into his lifetime executive role.

Now include everything else you left out.

Ghost was the PP QB for an Arizona PP (2021-22) as bad as the current Flyers. that was with Keller, Kessel and Schmaltz.

Ellis is permanent LTIR, it's just a matter of timing.
The cap issues were inherited, and will be gone next season - $19M projected, $52m two years from now.
2024-25: Walker the only UFA of merit, Hart, Tippet, Brink and Zamula RFA
2025-26: TK the only UFA of merit, Cates, Frost, Foerster, York, RFAs

Peterson could be bought out next years at a $3.3M saving (and $1.7M in 2025-26).

Ghost scored 4.88 PPP/60 that season and led the Coyotes with 19 PPP, as many as Keller and Schmaltz combined. So the team's PP struggles weren't on him. And when did Nick Schmaltz become a guy to base a top PP unit around?

Not next season, or the season after that.

Truly, PP's are composed of a single player.

I don't believe you actually but into this dishonest, bad-faith slop. We all know you're just mad at Ghost for making Fletcher look stupid.

You wouldn't want Keller or Schmaltz? Kessel was an elite PP scorer on the Pens a couple years before.

What is this sudden obsession with Schmaltz? His career high for a season in PPP is 13.

Fun comparison of the PP QB Chuck shipped out in 2021 versus the one he brought in:

Ghost: 22 PP GF, 2 SH GA

Yandle: 15 PP GF, 7 SH GA

Yes Truly Kessel in Arizona with Ghost was the exact same thing as Kessel in 2016. What with his *checks notes* EIGHT goals in 82 games.

Do you even know what you're trying to do here or are you saying random stuff and hoping it comes together?
