There's a whole generation of ST holders who supported the "win now" philosophy that got them into this hole. It took bottoming out to build support for a real rebuild.

So then Ersson and Andrae were sent down it appears and I missed that. It seems there is another move coming with only 21 on the roster. Not sure if Ellis counts, which would be 22.

The Flyers could've filled out their roster just from waiver pickups

I always believed you could/should construct your 4th line from within and waiver claims. Cheaper. More flexibility.

Flyers are doing just the opposite. During a "rebuild".

I also chuckle how this is going to be the best 4th line in the league. That has to be right up there with the Phantoms making noise in the Calder Cup playoffs. It gets said every year. It never happens.

How is this different than the defensive vet they signed this year, and the one they signed to a four year deal last season?

Hart could easily start all nine games (non back to backs) in October assuming he's fit and healthy, so it makes sense for Ersson to start the season in the AHL where he can play. They Phantoms have seven games in October:
