i don’t love this answer. Why don’t they have a line of communication?

It's possible that it was a communication issue but IMO it's more likely that Briere just didn't want to blow up Gauthier's spot for not paying our of his own pocket to attend the camp.

He really does need to work on his responses and interactions with the media though.

Why don't the Flyers buy 1000 Cutter Gauthier t-shirts and distribute them at training camp for free? Am I missing something obvious about NIL rules?

I don't see any issue with saying, "NCAA rules preclude a player from attending more than one development camp, and Cutter attended last year so he is ineligible to attend. We extended an invite as a matter of courtesy, but he understandably declined." While I realize it might be a bit much to assume of this fanbase, I can't see that upsetting many people.

Maybe the FO just doesn't understand the rules.

Needs to sign Pronger as Asst. GM to handle the press. I can imagine him doing well just for that alone.

"Why isn't Gauthier here at camp?"
"Well Cutter flew Spirit, so you can imagine his delay.
But more seriously - Cutter is out of camp for a pressing family matter and we may see him here, but it's not a guarantee. He's keeping us updated as camp goes along""

It definitely a teachable moment, I think all NCAA players attended last year so I never heard how to deal with it. It should have been a quick standard line. "NCAA rules dictate that players get one free camp after that it's on their dime. He attended last year and he is unable to attend this year due to the financial obligation. We extended an invite as a matter of courtesy, but he understandably declined."

Once again, I'd like to just point and laugh at the NCAA for their incompetence. This is a drafted player (first rounder no less) who has to pay his own way to a development camp with the team that drafted him (who will make him a millionaire in about 12 months) so they can protect their fake sanctity of amateur status.

I'd like to believe that Danny could say "hey we talked, he had a long season with a big year ahead, he's going to skip this one"

he made it seem like they didn't talk

Dreger was on VAN radio today saying PHI called WPG/VAN to take Sanheim. They told WPG they’d take the negative value Schmidt deal but WPG said no. There was also the willingness to take Krug’s liability.

Just curious as to whether the fanbase feels the same about Sanheim or if the fanbase views him as a legitimate top four matchup guy with no signs of slowing down.

Here's the thing, bud. This organization has no f***ing idea what it's doing. It's an omnishambles with no exit.

Hard to see a pool with Brink and Andrae in the top 5 as being the third best in the league
It’s being heavily propped up by the goalie ranking I think, but yeah there are several prospect pools that are better IMO.

I forget the data they use but he’s basing the rankings off of a model that predicts % probability of NHL impact
