David Hapskork is the reason why Claude Giroux, Jakub Voráček and Shayne Gostisbehere played the best hockey of their careers while being a victim of being forced to put Chris VandeVelde, Dale Weise, Michael Del Zotto, Valtteri Filppula or Brandon Manning out there in the worst years of their careers at the same time.

It’s beyond tiring seeing this franchise try to model themselves after these kind of clubs.

The Blues. Columbus. Islanders.

It’s just a personal thing for me, but it’s actually a beautiful game. The Flyers just seem destined to try to WANT to make a team Bobby Clarke would be proud of. Defense. Grit. Bunch of try hard secondary guys.

It’s just stale. Try something new. It’s not as if this shit has worked, and it’s boring AF.

Bedard would help yeah, but they keep trying to build a reliable station wagon, instead of even daring to try for a Ferrari. That horseshit old school Flyer brand is destroying this thing year after year.
How dare you rail against the blue-collar, honest working esprit of Philadelphia? This team reflects their bleak but hard-working existence, and to not demonstrate plucky courage and brave determination against more skilled opponents every minute of game time is an insult to these fine citizens!

I will say this, if the Flyers do end up getting Bedard, I think we'll see Torts gone sooner than people think.

Coaches are replaceable, generational talents aren't.
watching Torts try to strip Bedard of his natural abilities would be enuf for me to check out..

but theres 0.0% chance Bettman allows Bedard to not be exploited by a major network franchise..

they arent gunna send him to some shit Org. to toil away...

“Hakstol beat the defending champs”?

Interesting.

How many points did he have?
What was his sv%?
When he controls the players on the ice from his spot on the bench, does he use an Xbox or PlayStation controller?

He knows all the fancy stuff, he's got the skill part down.

It's time to teach this young man how to defend, and be a pro. He won't be handed anything.

He got "career years" - in other words, got players to play above their norm.
G was dinged/injured for most of Hakstol's tenure
Giroux is one of the most consistently healthy players in the league since the 2005 lockout.

Giroux scored 266 points in 273 games during Hakstol’s tenure, 10th most in the league.

You are so bad at this.

Not getting 1 or 2 in the lottery kind of kills any hope for excitement next season.

What is there to look forward to? Cam and coots maybe returning to form and getting a worse draft pick? Sanheim living up to that extension enough to trade him? TK doing well enough to get an unnecessary extension a year ahead next summer?

All I see in the future is shit

The only thing that would excite me is a full fire sale and rebuild. Hayes, Provorov, Laughton, TDA and TK moved in the offseason for picks and prospects, and a commitment to play the young guy all season long. Pipe dream I know.

Anything else is more of the same which I have little interest in watching and even less interest paying money to see in person.

Be careful what you ask for, you might get it.
What do you think living through a rebuild was going to be like?
NJ made the playoffs once in ten years, despite lottery luck.

They should move Hayes, Provorov, Laughton before the draft.
Foerster will start, Lycksell and Brink will get a shot in TC.
Zamula will start, Attard and Ginning will get a shot in TC.

Farabee - Couts - TK
Tippett - Frost - Atkinson
Lycksell - Cates - Foerster
Deslauriers - Desnoyers - Allison
Brink, Laczynski

??? - York - ???
Sanheim - Risto
Zamula - TDA
Seeler, Attard

Avon, Gendron, Wisdom, Andrae, Zanetti, Samson, Kolosov on the Phantoms
Gauthier, Kaplan in college.
Get a 2nd for JOB, and multiple assets after the June trades.

We are already going through the agony of a rebuild without the rebuild.
