Or, clean out anyone that is taking up needless cap space and and try to get some picks/a prospect or two. "Stand pat" no, never stand pat always look to improve even if you can only do tiny increments. If nobody gives a decent return of JDB (I hate to say this) then keep him. Open up some Cap space, and call up some kids.

You're right about that. But outside of JDB I don't know that we'll get any takers on Forbort or Gryz.

There's a market for Ullmark who we will have to move on from next year anyway, so might as well try and find a buyer if possible.

Anything is possible but the rumors of Edmunson and now Forbort not skating is hard to think something may be going down

Matt Porter mentioned (not rumoring) Buchnevich from the Blues. I like that. A lot.

For the mentioned Caps players, Don has shown he will return to the well (the ducks). He dealt with them last deadline. You never know.

He doesn't say that they're in on just what he would like to see...

Matt Porter

@mattyports

I don’t know if the Bruins are in on Buchnevich, but I like the fit.
Brings offense, works hard enough on D. Versatile (LW/RW; some think he’s also a C). Had his best season production-wise with Montgomery on staff. Blues reportedly willing to retain.

Are we basing high impact guys only on analytics? Trenin and Edmundson make this team tougher to play against. Lindholm is a better center than anyone they have at center currently, if he doesn't work out you can move on from him.

Trenin, yeah. He's tough to play against. So was Garnet Hathaway...how did that work out?

Edmundson is not hard to play against at this point. He's a pylon with snare.

Lindholm has the most capability to be an impact player on this roster, but his play the last two seasons has been poor. I'm not saying he cannot turn it around, but Vancouver already wanting to move on from him is a very very bad signal that he might not be able to.

I also agree with this. You need physicality sprinkled throughout your line up. I'd argue physical forwards are more key to the Bruins success in the post season that the defense, even if certain people don't want to hear it.
Yes. I think a nice experienced, hard hitting 4th line would be much more effective & cheaper than getting one high skillled player for this team.

I only mentioned it this way because people here will get their hopes sky high and then crushed WHEN it doesn't happen.

I will be thrilled with Buchnevich
Its interesting to me that hes even being mentioned tbh. Blues got him for a steal (cant believe that was over three seasons ago) and have him under pretty good control. I dont watch them but looking at his stats, its not that bad of a year (considering the team itself is a hot mess).

That being said, I too would be thrilled to land him. 28 year old left shot top 6 center. Yes please.

So in your revisionist history the D that had Ference, Chara, Boychuk, McQuaid and Siedenberg needed to have Matt Grzelcyk on it to be better??????????? The game isn't a speed skating competition yet, if it was Grzelcyk would have some value as opposed to know when he has none to anyone but Sweeney.

Meh, I meant send Grizz to Providence.
I'd argue he can't even skate that well. Average at best. He constantly gets burned on the outside. The only thing he is good at, very good at, is getting the puck out of the zone after he gets it from the Bruin digging out of the corner.
He's rarely on the PP. He can't even beat out Carlo for PP time. I mean, Carlo has negative offensive skills :)

14 goal scorer on the top line, 11 goal scorer on the second. DeBrusk and Heinen should never see top 6 minutes. People are worried about analytic cards and this is what the Bruins are rolling out every night.

Teams will get desperate in the final hours of Friday's trade deadline. Especially when they miss out on certain players. That's the time Donny needs to move the UFA's that he doesn't plan to have here next year. Bruins need to make a few shrewd moves and need to recoup some draft picks.

Because you're sending over video analysis right?
Is that where we are going with this?

I watch a lot of hockey, specifically teams in the west while most of you guys are asleep. I don't type a players name into something and base my entire opinion of what he's good and bad at on a chart. I can see that certain players can help the Bruins in areas they lack by what I see with my eyes. I was told Jake Middleton was bad at hockey with a chart (even though, he... like, doesn't suck and would be a welcome addition here), I was told how elite Matt Grzelcyk was with a chart, only for that to go completely sideways in the post season.
