Focus must be adding size and toughness. The scoring/PP issue will not be resolved by trade.

Bulk up the roster and mimic Florida's run to the Finals praying for leniency in officiating.

But Gryz n Forbert are the answer
Forbort is absolutely not the answer. The Grizz of most of this year is not the answer either. But he was way better against Florida than Forbort was, and especially was way better against Carolina, who just continually tossed the puck into Forbort's corner over and over.

Slow crappy defensemen who can't get the puck out of the zone are not the answer for Florida.

Too bad bruins are dealing with Injured Forbert. If healthy he's a force in the playoffs / PK.
When has Forbort ever been anywhere close to a force in the playoffs?

Bourque's retired, but no matter who they get it wont make a big difference.
Forecheck, tenderize, repeat.
Forceheck, tenderize, injure, repeat.
Forcecheck, bailout, goal.
Donny doesn’t like violence. That’s why ever since 2011 we’ve been getting softer & softer. He brings one guy ever so often ( Backes, Belesky, Ritchie, Geer, Hathaway etc) to appease Neely, and expects the whole team to play tougher lol. You need toughness throughout the team. Doesn’t work like that.

I'd still rather him than either Gryz and Forbs. Both have been not existent. Forbs isn't even a physical guy. If both are gone Edmundson replaces Forbert easily. Not sure who replaces Gryz and why I think Donny may just keep him. I have said all along that I don't like Gryz but if he is to stay he has to be paired with someone nasty to balance the pair. My thoughts

I personally love watching players dump the puck into Grzelcyks corner, skate in and for him to bail and toss it on the opponents stick.

It's either A) He bails and tosses it away or B) He gets hit, misses a period or two, or a few games.

But hey, he's a decent skater or something that can't score, can't play a physical game, can't get leverage in front of his own net.

Edmundson is hitting less and blocking less shots than usual.

Take that for what it's worth. Maybe it's system related.

Carlo has double his hits and blocked shots.

You think deploying a bunch of Gryz is going to solve that? How well does Gryz protect the front of the net? It’s not just the forecheck, after they get the puck back to the defenseman they crash the net. Gryz isn’t going to clear the front of the net. We had a bunch of slow foot defenseman in Miller and Mcquaid, yet they made life miserable in front of their net and we won the cup.

Miller wasn't on the '11 team

Check the highlights of that playoff run. Boston's slow footed blueline was exploited a lot in transition - Thomas saved the team from a 1st round exit by making countless number saves off odd man rushes. They did help clear the crease when things got around the net but getting to the puck first matters more, even in the playoffs. What the Bruins need is a guy who can help in both areas - a bigger guy who can move quick enough ( like Carlo for instance ) who provides some muscle around the net.

Give me Middleton and Trenin and call it a day.
I'll take Duhaime as well if we are already dealing with Minnesota. Lauzon if Nashville, McCarron can come along as well

Regula in Providence?

He's playing about 3 minutes less than his normal ice time of the past few years, which could be a reason for those lesser stats. Why he's playing far less, I'm not sure... maybe they saw something in him they didn't like.
