That would be an interesting situation. Lindholm's since going to Vancouver has seen his production drop 33% compared to what he was doing in Calgary this season.
I wonder if hes playing third line minutes vs 1st line minutes in CAL

Did you see JBD play in his previous 7 seasons?
You seem to be touting Gagne's 60% face-off rate. It's a significant outlier from his performance at the dot throughout his career, as well as a small sample size (27 games).

I'm not sure who JBD is. I'm guessing you mean JDB. Are you comparing Gagne (55 goals, 127 points) with DeBrusk (133 goals, 255 points) over the past 7 seasons? I don't think that works either.

I can see this trade ..Read earlier Guentzel.framework was agreed and could take till Wed night. That is a deal Bruins need to be careful with however because Lindholm is a UFA .I would like deal in place first then sign me up.He will fit Bruins system.
Rumor was that he was traded to Vancouver because Boston wanted him resigned as part of the deal. Someone said no and Don said good-bye.

I assume nothing has changed and Don want him signed as part of the deal.

Hmmm. I don’t hate it but Bruins will need to clear out almost $5m. Basically Ullmark. Or JDB+, Gryz or Forbort+. I am guessing whoever we give to Van ends up in Pittsburgh?

I am not all that interested in Elias Lindholm, he just seems like a #2 to me

It makes them better I guess but how much of a needle mover is it really? Perhaps riding next to Pasta brings those numbers back up I suppose
He is a Bergy-light. Good in all situations and defensively responsible. Not a shiny 1C that everyone here wants, but he would improve the team. I think his biggest asset would be stability, and we've seen the boys need that. Also think his numbers would jump in Boston as compared to his use in Vancouver. They've been using him as a 3C recently.

I see Dubas liking Jake, personally. I think he is a player he would want on his team. Gets younger for a team that is the oldest in the league.

Especially if they move Reilly Smith.

But Guentzel going to Van, and JDB both? I wonder what goes to Pitt. So many possibilities.

I wonder at people calling him a #2 C. He's probably in the top 20 Cs in NHL, which feels like it should be a #1.

Also, I'm not sure who we can realistically think we could acquire even by next season who would be better.

If Donny can send Grez for a 7th that would open things up. Lohrei has shown he is ready and having zboril / regula as a 7th is fine.

Yep but this time no bullets in terms of picks and farm system. I cant see him trading lohrei poitras or lysell. It has to be roster players now.
Lohrei is ready in some aspects and not others. Having Zboril or Regula as a 7 is a disaster waiting to happen. Gryz helps the team more than a 7th ever will.

Absolute masterclass by Sweeney. Don’t like the price? Get a pissed off and motivated version of them for cheaper a few months down the line.

Jokes aside, Lindholm is probably the best and (now) realistically acquirable impact player at his position we can get this year, and likely will be this summer as well. If it happens and he lights it up with Pasta and/or Marchand, there’s your guy mid-long term. If not? So long, and you’re not stuck with his 7-year piece of paper.

I think he’s a fringe 1/2C with high upside but there’s nothing wrong with that. Top 6 centers are hard to find and don’t forget Bergy/Krejci were both considered the same back in 2011. You need to luck into or really pay up for an elite #1. Would rather be halfway there. Have to imagine our core guys would be pumped up and it takes a lot of pressure off Coyle/Zacha.
