Staple him to Pasta and call it a day
They don’t have to jump significantly, as long as the other team’s numbers decline accordingly. 12 consecutive games or whatever it was with 3 goals against is the problem. He is a Bergy-light. Good in all situations and defensively responsible. Not a shiny 1C that everyone here wants, but he would improve the team. I think his biggest asset would be stability, and we've seen the boys need that. Also think his numbers would jump in Boston as compared to his use in Vancouver. They've been using him as a 3C recently.
Canucks will need to free up at least $6M and for the Bruins to obtain Lindholm, close to $5M. Add to the fact that Pittsburgh is looking for prospects and young players more-so than picks for Guentzel, my first thought is the Bruins offering a pretty good prospect or two in the deal (folks are saying Vancouver's prospect pool is pretty barren, but I'm not sure). What would it take from the Bruins for the Canucks to bite. Need cap space and a 1st I'd assume.

Don Sweeney's deadline war roomI'm thinking we'll see a six-team trade this year.
Be some add with no cap.Absolute masterclass by Sweeney. Don’t like the price? Get a pissed off and motivated version of them for cheaper a few months down the line.
Jokes aside, Lindholm is probably the best and (now) realistically acquirable impact player at his position we can get this year, and likely will be this summer as well. If it happens and he lights it up with Pasta and/or Marchand, there’s your guy mid-long term. If not? So long, and you’re not stuck with his 7-year piece of paper.
I think he’s a fringe 1/2C with high upside but there’s nothing wrong with that. Top 6 centers are hard to find and don’t forget Bergy/Krejci were both considered the same back in 2011. You need to luck into or really pay up for an elite #1. Would rather be halfway there. Have to imagine our core guys would be pumped up and it takes a lot of pressure off Coyle/Zacha.
Pasta or Marchand. He's no Bergeron but he's as close of a clone to Bergeron as there is in the league.Staple him to Pasta and call it a day
Lindholm and Hanifin are my two dream acquisitions for this team. Hoping to get them for free this summer. Chiarelli coveted Lindholm in his draft year and Sweeney coveted Hanifin in his draft year. Both went to Carolina and then together and to have them in Boston together would be good.Absolute masterclass by Sweeney. Don’t like the price? BOS: Lindholm
VAN: Guenzel
PITS: Polzolgin, Debrusk, Beecher
Guetzel to VAN, Crosby to BOS
