Just went to look it up and they're 49.3% on the whole and 52.5% in the defensive end (good for 7th in the league).

I think people want to see that presence in the bottom 6, Zacha is definitely doing much better than I expected though

Where'd the obsession with face off percentages come from and why aren't those folks calling for Beecher to be recalled?

The obsession probably came from watching a lot of late goals scored, costing points, because of lost draws in the defensive zone.

It definitely needs to be addressed and prior to Boqvists mini heater lately, I’d have been fine with Beecher back here….and I’ll be fine with it if Boqvist cools off as weel.

I agree but Beecher doesn't seem to have centre down defensive positioning wise at the NHL level where Boqvist does (look at their plus/minus...big gap)....although Beecher is better on the dot ...maybe some sort of hybrid role where he takes draws and switches to the wing where his defensive miscues will be mitigated

This far along I'm sure the teams who are on Linus list are well aware by now and Sweeney sure in the hell isn't going to waste his time talking with those who aren't. He could be signed already, and Sweeney may not want to play his hand, but either way if reports are right its eminent. Usually where's there's smoke there's fire.

Sam Gagner is on waivers. His stats have been modest but he's still a positive corsi/Fenwick, on ice for more goals for than against, and a 60% faceoff percentage this season. Given our need of centers and at a 775k cap hit, that's someone you'd look at making a claim on.

I think the important thing to point out with Beecher is that Monty basically threw him straight into the deep ends with no floaties. 12% ozone starts, most dzone starts per 60 on the roster, and all that with Lauko and Steen as his two linemates. Can't think of many rookies that would succeed in that situation tbh. Boqvist on the other hand has been getting like half as many dzone starts, with more ozone starts, and with much steadier linemates IMO.

Not saying Beecher is perfect, but I think they still miss his size, FO%, and PK ability on the 4th line and I'd bet if you gave him the same deployment as Boqvist his underlying numbers would look significantly better. I hope they free up enough space at the deadline to bring him back.

Kastelic for playoff depth energy and muscle on the cheap, do it. About to turn 25, 6-4 225 opponents do not like to play against him 16 hard hits per 60, would not cost much but could come in handy.

I can see this trade ..Read earlier Guentzel.framework was agreed and could take till Wed night.That is a deal Bruins need to be careful with however because Lindholm is a UFA .I would like deal in place first then sign me up.He will fit Bruins system.
