Grzelcyk played games 3 and 4 in Florida. Bruins won both by a combined 10-4 (grzelcyk did not play game 2 or 6

Clifton did not play games 3 & 4, but played games 2 and 6 and they lost by combined 13-8

However Clifton is taller and throws checks now and then

And Grzelcyk played in Games 5 & 7. Had a direct hand in losing game 5 in OT.

Was he better than Clifton? Sure. But Monty was in a hurry when he put in the lineup for Game 6 and Clifton was much easier to spell than Grzelcyk.

For those that care, the athletic posted their updated player cards for this season. If anyone has a specific player they want to see I can post them. It's still so early in the season that we probably can't take much from them yet, but they're fun to look at regardless.

Why do we want Zegras? 2 points in 12 games this season, soft as butter. Not what we need.

He's a 22 year old former top 10 pick who already has 2 60 point seasons under his belt. But maybe not nearly truculent enough

First off, this is a discussion board with other fans, not a meeting with the coaches and front office and disagreeing with a point of view is not "getting on" someone. To your point, last playoffs he was Orloved and that was a bad move by Sweeney. I didn't care for Bruce's use of the guy, and for Monty's last playoffs but will give it a pass because, again, Orlov.

As for the front office, he was extended and hasn't been traded. The means something, and the numbers don't bear out that he sucks in the playoffs. It has just become a meme around here in certain quarters. But we all have our points we can make to go back and forth on it, and I am not going to change your mind or anyone's who want Grizz off the team- it's been going on for years. Really I was just poking at Dan a little bit, because he and I are on the same side of the issue, but it's like the toughness debate. It goes in endless circles.

Just wonder why you thought that was a bad move by Sweeney.

If I recall correctly most everyone thought that was a great move by Sweeney.

Orlov came in as a good player, and initially I liked it (and you can't argue the success he had early on with the points), but as time wore on, I thought he really didn't fit the team in terms of pairing chemisty. It also caused Monty to shuffle his d pairings far too much when they had worked together really well for an incredible season. I blame that for the playoff crap-out as much as anything.

I would love Sam Carrick on the 4th line and don’t think he would cost a fortune. He can kick over to center too and the Bruins always seem to target those type of guys like Acciari, Lazar and to a lesser extent Brown.

If the B's do anything, I hope it's future oriented not short term. And for the love of god, no picks involved. Only exception to that would be if it involved a legit #1 Center coming to town.

My thinking is that this has been a very fun and surprising team this season. However, in my heart of hearts this team is not remotely a Cup contender this year.

Lots of positives though: young players getting experience and showing they could be future "how did B's get them there?" type players (Poitras, Lohrei) and we get lots of Cap relief next year.

All while being a legit playoff team at Thanksgiving mark. All good. Let's just not spend the future for a shot now. That window passed.

I'm hoping any deal with the Ducks is just for either cap space and/or draft picks coming back. Smells like Gryz but we would be better dealing Gryz closer to the deadline to a team looking to shore up their backend. Forbort possibly to the Ducks? Opens up space. Lohrei comes back up and plays regularly.

He's skilled, but he's a d-zone nightmare and that makes him a bad fit for the Bruins.
Very true, and he has shown no inclination to play much defense at this point in his career. Players can change, however rare it may be. Marc Savard was viewed as a highly skilled tool for a few teams before joining the bruins. Not comparing directly, just saying savard became at least competent in the d zone while here. I don’t think they are interested in Zegras, but if Anaheim is selling low I would think they would check it out

He’s an elite playmaker with absolutely amazing vision, super flashy, and this is the only time you’ll be able to afford him.

This is a guy who could be sitting there feeding impossible passes to Pasta and Zacha all freakin day.

He’d at a minimum be a ppg player in this org which is starved for center depth.

Lysell Frederic and Gryz for a 1C? Sign me up all day long.

I don't think they're gonna have much interest in trading away defensive depth, we know you need it come playoffs.

Here's Poitras:

They forgot to include Beecher for some reason and are adding him in for tomorrow morning, so I'll post his then.

Carrick is not a need, goal scorer, and a defenseman, maybe two, and physicality, that is a need.

Wasn't Carrick on the team last year briefly as a call up from Providence?
