Fighting after every big hit is silly. Not pushing back after you’re getting creamed is silly too.
I prefer my team to push back BEFORE they are getting creamed.

The whole “make a statement and show some fight” AFTER you’re getting your doors blown off is one of the dumbest things in hockey.

Wanna make a statement? Win a puck battle, block a shot, forecheck like a demon, lay a big hit while the game is still on the line. Not when a game is out of hand and the other team has their foot off the gas…..

I wouldn’t mind switching Marchand and Heinen to stretch out the line up a little bit.

Heinen-Zacha-Pastrnak
Marchand-Poitras-Debrusk
JVR-Coyle-Frederic
Lauko-Beecher-Geekie

Wouldn't mind bringing up Lysell soon for an audition...where would he fit? Not with Poitras ..two rookies on a line is likely a no go (although I think him and Poitras might have a nice future together at some point). Not as a 4th line grinder...not his strength and again 2 rookies on that line a no go. Is he completely blocked this season barring injury to the big club?

Best in league

Only bad contract was Coyle - but he’s now Patrice Bergeron and underpaid by 3-4 M

Bruins will be able to sort through FA like mother at a fruit & vegetable stand looking for gems

Don Sweeney to Bruins fans ‘you’re welcome’
Coyle has been playing very good since Montgomery’s comment weeks back “he’s effective when he’s skating like he did tonight”. In the past he’s proven he can’t consistently keep it going, let’s hope this season is different.

Free agency center list doesn’t excite me. I still see this team a top center short. Zacha more of a #2 imo. Assuming competing for Cups is the goal.

I know he has some luggage, but he seems to have changed his course. I wonder what evander kane costs?

Big winger who can score. Would fit a massive need come playoffs.

He’s got this year and two more at $5.125M, with a full NMC this year and next and a 16 team NTC in 25-26. And he’s 32 years old.

Right now, he’s close to a negative asset given everything. Since he has full control, would be very hard to trade him to one of the few teams that have space (doubt he’d go back to Buffalo as an example). And it would be hard to see Edmonton retaining for two more years - and even that requires money in-money out. So pretty much untradeable for EDM at least until the off-season but probably even then.

According to main trade board rumors, everyone not named Mcdavid or Draisaitl is available.

The Bruins would be nuts not to try and kick the tires on Nugent Hopkins. Problem is the cap but his contract is pretty good.

Outside of all his baggage as a hockey player he is is exactly what this team needs, a legit top 6 winger who is big, physical and can score.

Said it before, I'm not sold on RNH as a better top 6 option than Zacha or Coyle. Seems like more of the same to me.

Need to fix the soft as shit D group, McAvoy is the only one back there with a set of balls.

Fun group to play against
McAvoy was guilty often in the playoffs last year of throwing away the puck to avoid getting hit ,and game 7 was one of the worst performances from a defenceman I have ever witnessed.

25 and 27 are keepers it is after that where the problem lies on D . 28 not perfect but expectable has a bit of grit
You are right, the top 3 are what you want in a top 4 d-core , and I agree Forbort is playing fine in my estimation. The kid Lohrei has his moments good and bad, he is a young defenseman and they take time to develop, going to Providence is not the worst thing for him, but if he is up with big club patience is a must. Gryz, Shat, and Mitchell just don't cut it for different reasons. The Bruins do compete and Zacha and Coyle have eased some of the concern for a center, but forward with physicality, and ability to score would help this team. I know JVR has contributed point wise but, I just think he is just not what they need, too slow, and does not belong on the PP.

Imo, this team is overachieving any expectations so there is no reason overreacting two consecutive losses. That being said, I still don't think this team can make a deep playoff so I wouldn't spend assets on any trade baring a pure hockey trade.

DeBrusk + Steen for Kane + 24' 2nd

Middleton might be a good option as 2nd-pairing defenseman. It really sucks that Zboril has fallen so much because the Bruins could use a defenseman with his skill set.

Honestly would have loved Bogosian when he was available
