You can make a list like that for most any team in the league, though. I am speaking more specifically to all the doom and gloom that has been prevalent among some here for years. If that were all true, the Bruins should have a team like the Sharks by now, or heading that way, and that's not even close to correct.
The Doom and Gloom of it is that they should have more that 1 Cup since 2010.

Right? Damn shame. They have had some contenders since then. Honestly I don’t think the 2011 team was the best bruins team I’ve seen. The addition of Nathan Horton who scored some seriously important goals during that run and Tim Thomas going super saiyan are why they won that cup.

Agreed…Ottawa is bad. I just wonder how much better Ullmark or a similar quality goalie would make them?

No question that a quality starting goalie like Ullmark would help the Sens a lot, unfortunately they have plenty of other issues that they need to address, mostly related to the defensive part of the game.

I'd rather see him play, for the Hub on Causeway, but if he wants too much pay, out he can sashay, on July 1st free agent day

I cringed a little when I wrote this.

Still a lot of things to shake out before next year obviously, but Michael McLeod is UFA…. Good size, career faceoff % above 55% and a crazy near 65% this season.

10 goals right now, good on the PK, just turned 26.

Makes 1.3.

I don't know much about NJ’s pipeline or cap situation, but this is a guy who might be worth a 4x2 or 2.25 type of deal.
John Beecher can do this - and as someone who has McLeod on my SIM team and we use their contracts I was expecting a jump to over 3 M before the scandal took him out of lineup

He was getting much more then that

Since Lou retired here I’m the resident expert on Devils hockey since I got a bunch of them

McLeod really a third line player like a Frederic

Also good chance career over

I wouldn't be against trading Swayman for a Byfield? Re-upping Ullmark and having Bussi back him up. I guess we'll see how the stretch run goes and who they turn to in game 1 of the playoffs.

I’m getting more OK with the idea of trading Swayman over Ullmark. The one thing that gives me pause though, is Ullmark’s ability to stay healthy. The split workload seems to be the best fit for Ullmark. So do we think Bussi can play 30ish games next year?

Tough call. In the end I think I roll with Swayman.

Swayman just has that swagger to him that makes me think he will be a top 3 goalie once he takes over from Ullmark..we'll see though the value you can back for him vs Ullmark is definitely worth exploring from the Bruins. Byfield is a great suggestion by the OP

Bruins obviously have Swayman and Ullmark now, thinking is Bussi will be in the NHL next year, but Diepietro is the sleeper here, this guy was named to the all-star team in the memorial cup if memory serves correct and he has the talent to be a very good NHL goalie.
Dom Tiano was a huge supporter of DiPietro. He struggled there for a while, but he is showing a lot of perseverance and competitiveness with this opportunity in the Bruins organization. I really hope he gets another crack at the NHL at some point.

If you can trade Swayman for a 21 year old franchise center, then yes I would consider trading Swayman. Of course this assumes you believe Byfield is that player.

But if we are talking a first round pick, and maybe a middle 6 prospect. Then bleep no, Swayman is not available.

Swayman would be in the Brady Tkachuk deal

Yes, another player you consider moving Swayman for (bruins would need to add)

If you are talking a player who dramatically changes the franchise fortune for the next 5-10 years sure

I don't know why anyone should be concerned with Bussi, history has taught us that the Bruins backup goalies under the tutelage of goalie coach Essensa almost always outperform expectations.

I want to hang onto Swayze for the short term.
You will not win a cup without stellar goaltending, which is the most important position in hockey, like a QB in the NFL.
If Bussi or MDP turn out to be above average NHL tenders for us then I would consider it.

Zero bruins fans would be against trading swayman for byfield. Highly doubt the kings would even consider moving him though. Byfield is probably not getting traded. They are very high on him.

Oh man. I’m not into moving swayman. But for Brady Tkachuk I’m all in. Take swayman. Brady is my favourite Tkachuk. Brady is a stud muffin.

If Ullmark really wants to stay, I would approach him about taking less on a future contract so the team can resign Swayman and afford to keep Ullmark as the backup. But Swayman would need to be convinced to take one more bridge contract to help burn off the last of Ullmark's old deal.

That 3rd line of yours with 3 C's on it, they won't do. And probably Heinen as a Bruin and Poitras in Providence.

They were a line combination that Monty roll this season for a short stint, so yes they would do it. Frederic has played wing for all but a few games of his NHL career. Is he really a "center" or is he a winger that can take face-offs? Poitras played a few games at RW this year, does that make him a C/RW?

I don't doubt that the kid can play at this level. And I'm probably in the top-5 for goalie coach Essensa fan boys. But I'm more concerned that if there are growing pains, can they afford to let him work through them for 30ish games a year or push Ullmark to his brink as last year he clearly broke down at the end starting more games than any other season he's played. He averages between 40-45 starts a year the last 3 years. So whoever is behind him will need to start 35-40ish games. You roll the dice either way.
