Dont call up Foudy to play 4th line minute. Let him develop with the Eagles
Depends on the length of the callup. He's shown really well. I would agree, I wouldn't want him up here for 3 weeks on just the 4th line. If they are playing him on the third, suddenly I'm less concerned. I also think that the occasional callup for a quick honest day-to-day guy is a good reward for him and shows him encouragement and faith. All good things. But no extended stays on the 4th line is probably best for his development.

Has he ever mentioned if he wants to come to N.America next season?

I would guess he definitely will come over at some point.

After all, he came to North America for his draft year and did all the team media stuff after being drafted and then participated in our rookie camp that summer shortly after. A lot of Russian players that aren't top picks typically dont even come to North America for any of the draft stuff.

I'm also pretty sure I remember an interview just after he was drafted where he talked about being drafted by the same organization his dad was drafted by and spent 4 years with, and how he wanted to follow in his footsteps.

...So I definitely think he comes over. The bigger question is whether he can actually provide any sort of impact. I dont think there's much NHL upside at this point, but I hope he comes over and gives it a run to at least find out for sure either way.

It would be really nice for this team to get a really chip middle 6 winger out of him in a couple years when the cap constraints are even more substantial for this team.

Latvia is also not a pushover in this tournament.

16 returning players from the team that made it to the Quarterfinals last year, anf they have a chance to do it again this year.

What's his game like? I don't think I've ever watched a KHL game in my life and know nothing about the league. He has 32 points in 36 games which seems really impressive for a 23 year old. Kaprizov had 62 in 57, and Panarin 62 in 54 his last season. 40 in 51 at 22. Guessing you can't really take anything away from KHL numbers?

Nobody seems to be talking about him at all despite him putting up 1st line numbers in the KHL which makes me think he has some flaws in his game that will limit him at the NHL level.

He's a poor skater and isn't nearly as skilled as the guys you're listing. If he comes over (and a rather big if considering his contracts and relevance in the KHL), he's likely a a fringe guy in the NHL. Not meaning that he can't play in the NHL, but is he willing to play in the NHL in a bottom 6 role where he's not ideally suited (and may spend time in the AHL) for a chance at a 2nd line role where he will be below average at best? Different play style, but same problem as Malgin.

Also, the KHL has taken a pretty strong step back in the last two years. Foreign players are staying in their home countries or playing in Germany or Switzerland instead. The quality just isn't what it was in 2016-2018 where it was the clear #2 league in the world. Brandon Yip is top 10 in scoring. Jaskin who a number of teams tried to force into the NHL because of his great skill set, but never worked is top 5. The two best players in the league are De Costa (the ultra hyped college UFA that never panned out) and Tkachyov (played in the LA system last year where he failed out and was meh in the AHL). I could go on, but the league is just kinda crap right now. Top 6 AHL guys, not elite AHL guys, are running at a .75+ppg clip.

I would love for the Avs to check on the availability of Adam Gajan, not because I think he might be a great NHL goalie (I mean, he's doing really well in the Slovakian game against the Yanks and all) but that name just doesn't seem Slovakian at all to me.

He’s actually got a future IMO. His play in the NAHL has been great this year and he should get a longer look in the USHL. I’d certainly take a flyer on him late. I think if you wait until he’s a college UFA, it’ll be hard to land him.
