All of us, you cannot be an Avs fan unless anything Edmonton, Toronto, or Mild annoys you.

Two Canadian fan bases that always have little man syndrome lol.

I did enjoy hating SJ for a while. It's just sad now, but that's par for the course with Cali these days.
I must explain- the oilers took the Cup from the Islanders. They shall never be forgiven. Ever.

Maple Leaves? They can't even spell the name of their team properly. And unlike most of their fanbase, I remember back to 1967.

Fvck the Mild.

To add, it's legit hard to watch the West when you live in the East. I've literally told my boss I'll be starting later some nights. It was easy to watch the East from the West though.

Considering the Avs development staff is now down to two people maybe they should invest there.
I'm not saying that you're wrong, but the role of Player Development staff is sometimes misunderstood. While their department is "player development", Brian and Steven's roles in the organization are not centered around the development of individual player's hockey skills.

The role of the Player Development department in more about handling the lesser seen obstacles that are faced by players that become a part of the organization. For example, some of these kids are teenagers that just got handed a check worth more than their parents have made in their entire lives. They are dropped in a brand new city/country, given celebrity status and amenities, and have an entirely new set of rules and schedule to abide by.
The Player Development department is there to help them land on their feet, and transition to the lifestyle of being a professional hockey player for the Avalanche organization, and everything that comes with it.

Thanks for explaining.

But then I got to say it's just awful labelling for a department. Call it player babysitting or something.

This also begs the question regarding the nurturing of a player's skills from the draft to the time they score the Cup winning goal for the Avs. Can someone describe that process and include the personnel within the organization who are attending to this process of what we think of as "player development?" Thanks in advance.

The staff from whatever team they play for. The end

I think our goalie coach has an assistant that works with the AHL. He's also had input in pro scouting before I think.

Anyone else watching kovalenko playing in the kHL playoffs. His skating looks choppy but fast to me. Very much a buzz saw player. There's potential there.

Kovalenko even recorded max speed of the game with 22.3 mph, which is a bit unusual I'd say, as there are enough of speedsters on both teams.

He has a lot of skill and just hits absolutely everything. That team doesn't seem to be anywhere near as good system wise as St. Petersburg though.

Thursday Avalanche prospects Sean Behrens and Matt "Cow Eyes" Stienberg face off in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

That's it for current Avs prospects.

Well maybe one of these guys turns pro Friday afternoon. Sounds like Avs wanted Steinburg after last year so I imagine they’ll bring him after this year right? Also thought I saw that the Avs will ask Behrens what he wants to do.

Side note, they really need to see about bringing in an overager or two. Need to stack the cupboard again and find cheap scoring depth with overlord Gary giving us $1M more to work with next year.

Hopefully Denis the menace continues to fill that need.
