SAINT PAUL, MN (February 25, 2024) – The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) weekend schedule wraps up with a Sunday afternoon game between Minnesota and Boston, at 4:00 p.m. ET at Xcel Energy Center. Today's game will be a celebration of Pride.

Natalie Spooner earned the most MVP votes from The Hockey News' writers, headlining THN's midseason PWHL awards.

The PWHL has hit the midway point in their inaugural season. Looking at how the first half of the PWHL season played out, nine members of The Hockey News' team of writers covering the PWHL voted for their top three players for major awards. Without knowing what awards the league will have out, we followed a similar path to the NHL with an MVP, best defender, goalie, and rookie, coach of the year, most sportswomanlike, and the league's best defensive forward. We also recognized the would be winner for goals and points.

PWHL Toronto strikes first in Minneapolis. Not sure who is picking the in-game music @ 3M-Mariucci, but playing the Jay-Z/Alicia Keyes "Empire State of Mind" after Toronto scored just seemed silly. :rolleyes:

Minny ties it 1-1.

Tuesday night's Game Recap below. The only thing PWHL Minnesota gained from stretching this game to OT was another few days in the 2nd spot of the League standings. It only delays the progression of their inevitable tumble from the top tier, as their weaknesses amplify (power play efficiency, overall scoring, defensive structure, team speed). This will soon become "Canada's League" as it was pre-destined to be ... 🇨🇦
