With PWHL Toronto tickets in high demand, will the team change arenas next season? Here’s what we know so far

All Mattamy Athletic Centre games are sold out. The Scotiabank Arena game is, too. But finding a bigger place to call home is easier said than done.

Amy Scheer barely has time to catch her breath.
She’s been the senior vice-president of business operations for the Professional Women’s Hockey League for just over three months and her to-do list keeps growing and growing. Among the tasks on her plate is deciding where the six teams will play next season — a decision that is perhaps most urgent for Toronto, where the scarcity of tickets has created steep demand.

At the 2,600-seat Mattamy Athletic Centre, two blocks north of Yonge-Dundas Square, every home game is sold out. Tickets to Toronto’s game on Friday at Scotiabank Arena, a venue with nearly 19,000 seats, were gone within hours.

But finding a bigger place to call home is easier said than done, and something Scheer is just starting to consider. There are countless factors at play and it’s simply too early for the PWHL, only six weeks into its inaugural season, to know what comes next. ...

For those who can read French or enjoy deciphering Google Translate. ...

I'll give my fellow English-speaking/reading fans a hint of the theme of the Radio Canada article with a translated headline: "Will the resounding success of the new women's hockey league last?"

I'm equally fascinated by the French-Canadian version of the PWHL's abbreviation ... "LPHF". Looks like somebody found a way to link the noble past of North American women's pro hockey to "the best of the best" after all. :thumbu:

To those who have been to a game live, what level of boys/mens hockey would you say the PWHL is comparable to?

PWHL Ottawa managed to overcome a disputed goal awarded to PWHL Boston forward Taylor Girard early in the 2nd period (related to League Rule 65.7 Awarded Goal when a defender dislodges their net before the puck enters), and beat BOS by a final score of 4-2 on Monday evening in Lowell. I'd still like to hear the League's explanation for that goal being given to Boston ... for the record.

I saw this PWHL logo for the first time during tonight's OTT v BOS game first intermission. I think it's the best design of all the brand marks I've seen so far, simple with a good combination of League & individual team recognition ...
