I like your opening sentiments. And I especially like your PWHL-to-QC idea. Can you imagine the "Quebec City DESERVES another NHL Team!" proponents losing their collective
over a women's pro team coming to town instead?
Yep, and no shame having PWHL instead of the NHL. NHL hockey atmosphere is more American style now and less Canadian than it never has been and it is only the start. While I am a HUGE fan of the American way the NFL brings, I find it less interesting in hockey.
For me, hockey is more than an experience. Started skating at 3, played on pond and on outside rink, than traveling in buses from rink to rink... Use to follow NHL on 2 TV, one for the Nords (hoping they would win) and another one for the HABs (wishing they would lose). Loved the Adam division and adversity of that era. Love the heart and soul games we had ....
Now it is something else. No disregard, but Vegas vs the Krakens will never be like the Habs VS the Bruins, Red Wings against the Leafs and Detroit against the.... Leafs again !!!
The hockey going South, while understanding the reason NHL is going there at any cost, for me it is less interesting. I follow my Bruiins on one TV. I don't hate the Habs anymore... and few teams are a must be there ....
NHL is more marketing, more business, and less emotional, les rivalry. More something else.
So based on the above, those women play their soul out there. They battle in a way to get the chance of playing at a NA stage, and you can feel it. It is my type of hockey. All about the love of hockey. So yes, right now, I am all in with the PWHL. Reminds me the WHA... new, fresh, different and ALL hockey.
