So he has the chops AND the desire to be added to the PWHL NY coaching staff? Otherwise, he's just fishin' for hits on his account.
One has to keep oneself busy until the Women's Worlds (well I assume he got a dual job in China).

Well his 4-year tenure (was supposed to be currently in his 5th) as HC of the PHF's Metropolitan Riveters makes him way more credible than most on this topic.

*Looks at Mocek's record as a PHF Head Coach* I don't know how much coaching advice he should be given. Trying to tell one of the most successful women hockey coaches of all time how to run his team is a choice. The issue for NY isn't going to the front of the net, they can't enter the offensive zone with speed and can barely exit out of their own zone. Crashing the net really isn't their issue. Unless Madison Packer is a zone entry God this is just a team wide issue they need to figure out. When they do teams are screwed.

Squirrel this info away in your "What The Heck Are The PWHL Eligibility Rules, Anyways?!" vault ...
The PWHL permits players on reserve contracts the opportunity to sign Standard Player Agreements with any team. Teams may add players from the league’s list of eligible free agents as reserves, provided their reserve list does not exceed three.

The women hockey are gaining on me. I find the caliber pretty good, the entertaining level very high and no non sense going on. I really hope the league expands and Quebec City would have a team. I really like their product and am currently a big fan. Congrats to everyone and especially to the players.

I like your opening sentiments. And I especially like your PWHL-to-QC idea. Can you imagine the "Quebec City DESERVES another NHL Team!" proponents losing their collective 💩 over a women's pro team coming to town instead?

Yep, and no shame having PWHL instead of the NHL. NHL hockey atmosphere is more American style now and less Canadian than it never has been and it is only the start. While I am a HUGE fan of the American way the NFL brings, I find it less interesting in hockey.

For me, hockey is more than an experience. Started skating at 3, played on pond and on outside rink, than traveling in buses from rink to rink... Use to follow NHL on 2 TV, one for the Nords (hoping they would win) and another one for the HABs (wishing they would lose). Loved the Adam division and adversity of that era. Love the heart and soul games we had ....

Now it is something else. No disregard, but Vegas vs the Krakens will never be like the Habs VS the Bruins, Red Wings against the Leafs and Detroit against the.... Leafs again !!! ;) The hockey going South, while understanding the reason NHL is going there at any cost, for me it is less interesting. I follow my Bruiins on one TV. I don't hate the Habs anymore... and few teams are a must be there ....

NHL is more marketing, more business, and less emotional, les rivalry. More something else.

So based on the above, those women play their soul out there. They battle in a way to get the chance of playing at a NA stage, and you can feel it. It is my type of hockey. All about the love of hockey. So yes, right now, I am all in with the PWHL. Reminds me the WHA... new, fresh, different and ALL hockey.

Unfortunately I think you'll see a slicker, more marketable, more business-driven PWHL starting next season when they have a whole summer to fine tune their entertainment product. But if they can manage to sustain the current on-ice & in-rink enthusiasm with new players in 2024-25, maybe the "ALL hockey" feel will still linger for fans. :crossfing
