nah man, i meant hockey politics

I don't think he's 17/17 from what i have seen so far... i think he's still trying to figure out what he needs to do.

hopefully we'll find out friday

I mean, I hope he figures it out and goes PPG+ in the AHL.

It's just that at this point, I agree with that Houle decision of playing others ahead of him.

Unless he goes exponential, he's at least a couple years away from the NHL, let alone NHL PP. Right now, I wouldn't say he's really ahead of Ylonen's curve of development so he needs to pick it up.

Definitely still has top6 NHL player upside though.

Not with the camp he's had. Mysak belongs in the line-up before Condotta.

Mysak had a great camp. From the rookie tournament to intra team’s scrimmages to an actual good showing in preseason.

Kid works hard every night and has the hustle. He should definitely get a chance to show what he has.

Like you said earlier, there’s just too many quality level AHL players. Hopefully this will get sorted out quickly.

It feels bad to leave Condotta out after a good season and see standouts at camp be sent to the ECHL.

I read reports. Habs camp scrimmages were also shown.

I also don't see how your politics argument makes sense as many Euros have high responsabilities in Laval and Slafkovsky was on the 2nd line in the NHL.

Are they biased against people from Spišská Belá specifically?
Obejctively, looking at Mesar's camps and his play in Kitchener, it is not surprising that a 26th pick is not ready for the pros at 18 or even 19. Especially one with Mesar's size. I'm not sure I would have drafted him, but picking at that rank is always a 50-50 proposition. Personally I do not exàpect him to show well in Laval this year, but I hope I'm wrong, and that he can improve - in Laval or elsewhere.

has Mesar been sent down to the OHL?

No decision made yet. I would personally like to see him play some AHL games before a decision is made.

Also expect to see McKay and Émond be sent to 3R at some point soon. I'm not sure why they haven't been sent down yet to be honest.
Didn't McKay end the season in the AHL last year? I think Houle likes him.

Parker-Jones also finished the year in Laval last year. But he was sent down to 3R.

McKay was not in any line combinations at practice yesterday. Same as Mesar. So McKay is an odd man out. JF Houle could like him, but there is no place in the line-up for him.

I think 5 lines might not be so bad to start the year. Isn't there a lot of back to backs and even 3 games in 3 days sort of thing in the AHL? In those scenarios it's perfectly fine to rest some guys...

only 2 times this season do they have 3 in 3, once in Feb and again in March. They will have 8 days off in a couple weeks though, not sure what that is about.

They play tons of back to backs as the schedule is a ton of Fri/Sat games.

Anyone know what time the game is on? thanks in advance. It will be great to see all the kids.

For my dad’s birthday, earlier this week I bought tickets for next Wednesday’s game, really close to the action. AHL tickets are so cheap compared to the NHL that I couldn’t resist and got myself a random ticket for tonight as well! I guess I’ll have to go to Trois-Rivières to see the Lions at some point this season, too.

The crowd at the Place Bell is great, can’t wait to see how it will be for the season opener with many upcoming prospects freshly promoted. I’m also curious to see which Armia will show up on ice, he has the tools to dominate the league if he wants to.

I don’t know much about the baby Nucks roster, who should I keep an eye on tonight? Podkolzin, but who else, Räty? Klimovich?

It would be awesome to see Armia rekindle his career by showing intensity and emotion. I hope he does well. I personally would rather have him in the line up over Pearson and Gallagher. At least Armia can kill penalties.

I'm not so sure about that.

Pearson can kill penalties and plays with more sandpaper. His previous scoring peak is also higher than Armia's peak. Tanner is only 9 months older than Joel.
