Looks like Mesar lost to Kidney. I expect him to go back to junior or maybe Europe.

As stated before, not happy with Davidson on the 4th line. Would much prefer him on TR 1st line with PP time and Condotta draws in.

Too bad Heineman and Armia did not win a job with the Habs. Less space for youngsters in Laval.

Maybe Armia will actually enjoy Laval. He still gets his bag of cash except now there's no pressure for him to actually work hard...

And as Leroux mentioned the other day, he gets his full salary since he's on a one-way deal. But also, because he's not in the NHL, he doesn't have to pay escrow. So in the end, he nets more playing in Laval than he does in Montreal.

When injuries occur in Montreal, Hughes looking who to call up from Laval, Armia be like:

They would just have been replaced by other players. If they made the NHL, then some of Evans, Ylonen, Pezzetta, RHP etc would have been waived/sent down instead.

We will get injuries and we likely will trade someone at some point. Spots will open up.

Right. This forwards' line up is very light and soft.
The guy I hope goes to 3R is Farrell instead of Davidson. Aside from his size, he has shown little since signing his contact to justify being in Laval besides his pedigree. He was a disappointment in both camps and the preseason. He deserves a wake-up call that nothing will be handled to him automatically. It also will serve to send a message to all the players and prospects that draft position means nothing after draft day. You work for what you get like Davidson did, or risk being bypassed on the depth chart like Farrell.

They were drafted in rounds 4 and 5. Literally 6 picks apart in different drafts.

Farrell isn't being sent down to 3R. He has been a big player at the Worlds and Olympics, and he does a lot more on the ice than just try to produce offense.

Not with the camp he's had. Mysak belongs in the line-up before Condotta.
Mysak is intelligent, but soft and slow.

Condotta is intelligent and fast and a hard worker, but with not as good hands as Mysak.

Mysak would score more points in the ECHL, but Condotta will provide more on-ice value in Laval.

Mysak does not belong in the ECHL. He's an AHL'er.

Don't think of last year's Mysak. Look at how good his camp was. He looked faster and more effective.

I put Mysak in the line-up before I do Condotta.

I'll keep an eye out. I'm always open to change my opinions based on new facts. Let's also see how Kidney does when opponents are actually checking, and whether Bourque still has enough wheels to handle the AHL and three games in three nights.

I think 5 lines might not be so bad to start the year. Isn't there a lot of back to backs and even 3 games in 3 days sort of thing in the AHL? In those scenarios it's perfectly fine to rest some guys...

There are 2 players that should be sent down at one point. Mesar to OHL, Davidson to ECHL.

Heineman-Maillet-Roy
Simoneau-Kidney-Andersson
Farrell-Stephens-Armia
Condotta-Mysak-Bourque

Gignac-Légaré-McKay

Heineman/Armia will be the first re-call if injuries.

Which is why four lower draft pick rookies got roles in the top 12.

Both Kidney and Davidson were slated lower than Mesar, but he keeps doing nothing with the opportunities he's given. I had him in the 1st line in the early summer... then 2nd line as camps went on... then 3rd line... then fighting for that spot with Kidney/Davidson...

He might have great tools, but if he can't use them, it's not worth much.

With how everyone has played so far, he's 17 out of 17 and it's his fault.

I feel at this point, if he doesn't pick it up fast it's better to send him to ECHL/Europe/Junior.

To be honest im just waiting to see him play 1 game of AHL I couldn't watch the pre-season games so I have to see him before i can judge him.

Are you at the rink? im not sure how you can watch them play to judge them?

I read reports. Habs camp scrimmages were also shown.

I also don't see how your politics argument makes sense as many Euros have high responsabilities in Laval and Slafkovsky was on the 2nd line in the NHL.

Are they biased against people from Spišská Belá specifically?

nah man, i meant hockey politics

I don't think he's 17/17 from what i have seen so far... i think he's still trying to figure out what he needs to do.

hopefully we'll find out friday

Doubt he reports. I know he technically would have no choice, but this could get messy.

He wasn’t interested in year 1. Year 2 there could be a disaster.
There’s likely a trade all ready in place. GM at the start of the year said they don’t expect him back and are already planning to sell players to get back picks.
