Based on everything I've read, I think Connor will be signed.

King on the other hand (based on that last article) it sounds like he's really on the fence/not likely to be signed.

I thought King had a very good debut in the pros. He was tied for 5th in team goal scoring with 15 goals and 8th overall in scoring for the team with 30 points. In the AHL, he's tied at 23rd overall for rookie goal scoring.

The Gulls were 10th in the conference in GF and 7th in the Pacific Division in GF with 216 goals. I'd like to try to keep King with San Diego due to his goal scoring, which we can do if the AHL club signs him to an AHL contract. I don't know how much notoriety King has made to earn an ELC outside of Anaheim, but he's a big, right shot forward at 6'3 and 205 lbs. And he just turned 22 years old.

At Pro Hockey Rumors, NCAA prospect RW Joey Larson was invited to the Ducks' dev camp. He's a 23 year old sophomore, goal scorer who is 6'1 and 194 lbs. Verbeek probably noticed him while scouting Levshunov as they're both teammates at Michigan St. It feels like Verbeek is hunting right shot forwards.

The recent report was written in a way like he'd continue with us so will see. I hope we do sign him. I wonder if we might want him in San Diego contract, but if we don't sign him to ELC he can be drafted, right?
Maybe they want him to develop another year in the WHL since he is so young and less physically developed? He's also missed some games the past few seasons. It would probably help him transition to the AHL immediately instead of playing in the ECHL which wouldn't be as fun and with fewer fans than dominating in the Dub.

Myatovic was signed to an ELC recently. He only played in 34 WHL games this past season. At 6'3 and 187 lbs, Myatovic has a similar build to Hvidston, who stands at 6'2 and is 185 lbs. In the NHL.com article, it cited that Hvidston added 15 lbs during the summer, but due to injury and appendectomy surgery, he lost that mass and power throughout the season.

If Hvidston isn't signed to an ELC, then Anaheim has no control if he will stay in the WHL or not. I have no problem if Hvidston stays in the WHL for another season if we sign him, since he's still really young player (won't turn 20 years old until Sept.). Although, iirc, Verbeek denoted Hvidston would be one of the new players going to the AHL for this coming season.

I believe the Ducks relinquish their rights to him if they don’t sign him today.

Tomorrow at 2pm PDT, I believe.

Also saw it floated on twitter (by a random fan IIRC, not an actual source) that Pat might let him go to FA then sign him to an AHL deal.
This would be dumb to think noone would draft him. I would gladly take him in the 5th again.

Its random twitter speculation.

If he doesnt sign it's because they dont want him or he doesnt want to sign here plain and simple.
