Gauthier did look pretty quiet this game, but out of nowhere he gets a prime scoring opportunity and buries it. What a shot.
That's been my experience watching him -- he doesn't really carry the puck that much, doesn't seem to want to. Doesn't mean he isn't extremely dangerous or even that he's not trying, but if his line mates don't find him then it seems like he's kind of SOL. I don't really see an NHL center in him.

I agree. LW on Carlsons line so he can bury all his crazy passes. Hopefully they click

Gratz to Colangelo he has had a massive turn around!

I dunno if I'd classify it as a massive turn around, but that his coaching staff at Northeastern did him dirty in his junior season. At the end of Colangelo's sophomore season, Northeastern posted an article on how excited they were to have the Colangelo and his linemates returning for their junior season. The coaching staff booted Colangelo from his linemates from his sophomore season, down lower in the lineup. I noted this last year in-season that Colangelo isn't playing with his usual linemates. So he jumped ship to an org that will best utilize his skills in Western Michigan. On a tangent, Kukkonen seems like he's going through the same situation at Michigan Tech, but I digress.

  • D+2, Northeastern
    • Games = 29 games
    • Scoring = 12g + 15a = 27 pts
    • ppg rate = 0.93 ppg rate ... ⬅️
    • Plus/minus = +8 rating
  • D+3, Northeastern
    • Games = 35 games
    • Scoring = 9g + 15a = 24 pts
    • ppg rate = 0.69 ppg rate ... ⬅️
    • Plus/minus = -4 rating
  • D+4, Western Michigan
    • Games = 24 games
    • Scoring = 15g + 13a = 28 pts
    • ppg rate = 1.17 ppg rate ... ⬅️
    • Plus/minus = +11 rating

Colangelo was injured much in his freshman season and only participated in eight games. The next three seasons reveals that this year's production isn't a fluke because he was nearly a point-per-game in his sophomore season. He wasn't put in a position to succeed in his junior season with Northeastern and held him back.

At this summer's dev camp, Colangelo had already committed to Western Michigan and looked like a man on a mission to earn an ELC. His season isn't over yet, but it appears Colangelo has surpassed his mission. Being a college senior, Colangelo might have drawn more NHL eyes upon him. Let's hope Verbeek gives him an offer he cannot refuse because we really could use a 6'3, 209 lbs power forward RW who can score goals.

Damian Clara is currently trending on Elite Prospects and the #9 most-viewed profile. Did I miss something?
I really dunno, but I think he's been playing well lately and players from Sweden (or playing there) tend to be viewed the most.

But something specific should have caused it. Of that I'm not sure
