No he absolutely is not. At least Kunin offers physicality and Hoffman well that’s more hoping someone trades for him at the TDL although I don’t expect it. Labanc sharks have been trying to get rid of for 2 years now. He has no value and isn’t good at all.
The only physicality Kunin offers is when he runs interference for his own linemates, Labanc is better than him at literally everything

Seravalli got the wrong Shark.

Maybe they were deciding until the last minute whether to waive Labanc or Simek? With Simek healthy someone had to go on waivers to stay within the roster limit. It makes sense to alert both agents ahead of time and Seravalli may have jumped the gun from there.

Both Grier and Quinn stated that waiving Labanc was never discussed.

If Serravalli really got this wrong, then you have to think he's burned a bridge with the Sharks organization.

GMMG: "If by "waive" you mean "working on an extension that will keep him a San Jose Shark for life" then yes I can confirm those reports."
No garbage tier Grier will wait until he’s a UFA and nobody signs him before locking him up

I think Seravalli could have also got bad info from Labanc’s camp. Often the contacts for these journalists are agents instead of team personnel.

From what I've heard "insiders" only release about 10% of the information they collect so I doubt Seravalli would post that unless he was pretty damn sure. I would guess that, for whatever reason, Labanc's agent genuinely believed he was going on waivers.

I'm a little confused by your "garbage tier Grier" label. To me it indicates there are different Griers out there, different tiers of Grier, which then makes me wonder, are we all living in a Sharks multi-verse where these different Griers exist?

Because really, that's the only way I can make any sense out of your repeated slanderings of the guy.

Of course!

We've got Griersy working the phones on the Vlasic trade. And then there's Mikey on the lines for the Couture trade. And finally mid-level Grier trying to give away Blackwood to Vegas for free because you know how Vegas goes through goalies more than a woman changes clothes.

I was going to say something about that too but figured it was pointless. Such as the guy who vilifies Kunin with swear words and pointless labels.

Yes, these two things are the same

But nonsense insistence on toxic positivity is good, actually, and leads to far more stimulating conversation

I have had countless conversation in my life that were stimulating and eventful that never included blue language or the oddly accepted “hot take.”
Of course, my life existed long before the internet belonged to everyone and being able to talk to people you’ll never meet all of that acceptable.

I don't really consider it a "hot take" that a team that gets outshot 2-1 on a nightly basis is bad

As for the blue language, I apologize if it offends you, and I also refuse to change my behavior

I simply can't decipher the syntax of your second paragraph, so I really don't know what you're getting at there

Nevertheless, I find the insistence that other people need to be positive about their favorite team at all times, even in the middle of a 5 year long playoff drought with no end in sight, to be inherently limiting and honestly boring, I have more fun making fun of my bad team while they're bad than pretending that they're good, at least then I can make jokes and laugh through the tears

The cussing doesn’t offend me, I simply find it lazy.
I am not saying this team is good per se but I do look to recognize the positives in the malaise. It tends to be harder to do and boring but that’s my choice. As I’ve said before, hockey is entertainment to me. I love it, yes, but other more important parts of my life make me cry. Losing a game does not.
