They are 24 and soon to be 25. How much more patient should they be? Neither will be an NHL regular unfortunately. Even Zamula the jury is still out on.
Teams go 14 forwards, 7-8 D-men deep b/c injuries are inevitable.
You want that extra forward, whether on the roster or parked in the AHL, to be NHL quality.
Belpedio is a good example of an AHL plus player, just lacks the speed to play in the NHL, same with Marody.

So one of the things you want to do is stockpile players who are marginal NHLers, but still a notch above AHL plus. Ginning, Grans and Attard have 3rd pair upside, if they get crowded out by other prospects, that's a good thing.

Should I be looking into kolosov coming over with Hart's situation and mediocre goalies? I'm sure he'd start in the A for a bit, if he even comes over

He's expected to come over when the KHL season is over, and will probably start some games for LHV. Then be the starter there in 2024-25.

None of them have shown they are marginal NHL players or a notch above AHL. Though I get your point.

You don't know until you know, that is, with marginal player you have to marinate them for a few years and see who grow into NHL players. Look at Seeler and Walker, for example.

Seeler is the exception. Walker had a normal path to the NHL. Bad exmaple IMO.

Walker spent four years in college, was undrafted, spent a year in the AHL and was promoted in his second season when he was 24.

As I said he had a normal path to the NHL when he turned pro. Attard and Ginning will not become NHL regulars with the Flyers. How can you not see that?

York- Sanheim- Risto- Dyrsdale - Zamula - Seeler (once re-signed).

They will certainly bring in another vet or make a trade for a top 6 defenseman.

Sanstrom had another strong game, something to watch given he'll be a UFA, they sure would like Lyon back.

Why is it something to watch? He has had a very subpar year. Based on his usage last year it is clear the head coach doesn't like him much.

What's the story with Wisdom? I thought he could be a fun player to watch.

Phantoms were flat as a pancake the 1st period then played even the rest of the way.
ECHL goalie wasn't awful, but did give up two stoppable goals.

The defensemen looked good, even Andrae played better, Ginning and Attard are earning a shot after the TDL, Grans look better as well. They're definitely pushing Ginning to be more aggressive passing out of the D-zone and contribute on offense, not that it would be his role in the NHL, but rounding out his game. Grans looked more active on defense.

The forwards, the Furry - Desnoyers - Allison line looked good, Avon had flashes, but the problem seems to be they just don't have real centers for the other lines with Laczynski out. Gaucher, Gardner aren't going to create much offense and Brooks is on the 4th line, looks like injuries have sapped his talent, same with Wisdom.

Brink has fallen off since his hot start, but that may be partially the lack of a suitable center for him to play with, but he also seems to be struggling with the physicality of the pro game and smaller windows. Which is why he's in the AHL right now.

Do you really believe this? If so why? There is zero indication this will happen.

Why after the deadline? You really think they will be trading multiple defenseman?

If those 2 are not earning a shot what will the company line be coming out of your mouth?

Andrae is a smaller D and needs to do some thing to esablish his identity.

The other 3 all start with consisency and identity and playing a tough physical game considering all 3 are 6'2+ and 200lbs

Attard can barely defend at AHL level, only worries about points, avg+ skater for a bigger guy and plays a very soft game for his size.

Grans is totally inconsistent and will definitely need to play a heck of a lot better to be considered a #6-7

Ginning has the tools, still not convinced on the tool box, but has to be way more aggresive.

Bell is/was the Phantoms best and most consistent D the last 2 seasons, gave them a very "calming" pesence on back end and made a very solid impresion when he was up with Flyers. They definitely miss him. He's been out for a long time - antone know what happened to him ?

Door is open now for someone to step up on D and I just haven't seen anyone doing anything to prove themselves

Yup this is what I see as well . I will also say Millman was a much better D man than Samson is and he got crapped on and sent to the ECHL . Samson has non stop mental mistakes .
Also heard last night Andrae is the third most penalized rookie in the league and he has played a month less than most . He gets caught flat footed a lot and takes penalties hooking holding sticking etc ... as they get by him . Not sure what his upside is .

Yes, the D prospects are a bit bleak. Andrae’s lack of speed is going to be a problem. If Grans can’t make, there might not be any actual NHL prospects there, and certainly none to count on as a cornerstone of a rebuild to contender status.

People think that the coaches are to blame, but imo the Phantoms' biggest issue is that they ever stopped wearing these threads and got rid of Phlex in favor of some Sesame Street reject.
