For the longest time it’s seemed like Colorado and Florida would be good trade partners in a Girard trade.

Now seeing them put the feelers out in the media that they want a mobile D, you’ve got to think CMac is going to have some conversations.

I don’t think they’re going to move Bennett after this playoff, but there’s some other good options in that forward group.

I always love to see a rebuild done the proper way. I don't feel like we ever traded off and committed to a full rebuild. We had multiple failed starts, probably because we didn't go scorched earth like Briere is doing here. We just allowed the talent to slowly wither and dine on the vine.

I hope this works out for him, because it may lead to more teams recognizing the window is closed and just selling off talent. It's easier and possibly quicker to rebuild and get competitive again if you start with a huge haul of picks from trading away all your talent rather than doing whatever it was, we did for a decade.

Is this supposed to be some type of even comparison?

Player A produces more, by about 10 points per season. Player A does this, while playing on worse teams who score less overall. So the 10 point difference is even higher.
Player A is 4 years younger and is less likely to decline than the 35 year old. Or at least, should decline less.
Player A is being paid for ages 31-33, player B from 35-39.

For a difference of 1M.
