I think the Avs will try to grab one middle 6 (hopefully better) center to pair up with Newhook as the 2 and 3Cs. Hopefully the player is way better than Newhook and can be a legit 2nd liner... but it wouldn't shock me to see the Avs get a flawed middle 6 type where the line is more blurred. I think they will supplement from there with a good 4C. Not what my personal preference would be, but that is my expectation.

He was basically free at the deadline and they spent more to get a worse player in Eller. I doubt the pursue him at all this summer

We would have Lindholm at a pretty low AAV for 1 year if we do get. I can't see Calgary having issues retaining either.
