In the last three seasons, Hayes has played in 184 games and Johansen has played in 182.

I definitely wouldn’t say Hayes is way healthier; they’re about the same in that department. Hayes is also a little older.

Hayes isn't coming off a surgery though. That's what matters to me. But Johansen is a much better player in his prime

On another note… the Avs had a shot at Hayes last year at the deadline and this off-season. Imo, they simply prefer Johansen.

Yeah, that’s fair! Apparently it missed his achilles and he’s already wearing tennis shoes, so fingers crossed!

The right shot and good on faceoffs are the main things for me. I feel like we have been missing that for a while. I also feel like him being above-average defensively will be huge for us.

Lehkonen-Johansen-Nuke could be a scary shutdown line come playoff time.

The problem with the analogy is a boat is something you might want and is useful. An Avs first rounder outside the top 10 is neither of those things.
