This better?

I'd be happy to see Miles Wood. Fast, can score some goals, seems like someone who could thrive in the bottom six of the Avs.
According to Devils fans, that guy is cooked. I think too many injuries did him in... not really sure though. Haven't seen him play in a long time.

Oh no. You know it's bad in here when we start talking about ROR taking a cheap deal.

Unless they trade Girard (doubtful at this point), I'd keep your expectations nice and low fellas.
Well it is bad, ufa options mainly suck and will be over priced, and trades could happen but does anyone really think CMac is capable of 3 or more trades in one offseason? It almost feels like first two just kind of fell into his lap and he started expecting others to do the same. But they didn't and he was caught with his pants down on draft night.

At this point I'm fully expecting Colton and Byram deals, and then a dumpster dive session on July 1 and calling it good until training camp.

Don't like trusting Dater, but if CMac legit thinks that Patches is a viable option after at age 35 and 3 achilles injuries, then we have a really rough 48 hours ahead of us.

I guess every GM had their pants down on draft night

Again, let's just fold this franchise.

Posters here were vindicating MacFarland a tad too early IMO. He had three really solid moves this summer (Johansen/Newhook/Colton) and I'll credit him for that, but he's still 2 or 3 moves away from this roster truly being competitive again. And he doesn't have the money to make those last moves meaningful.

Hathaway would be another guy that brings a heavy physical game. I think he's pretty decent at other aspects as well though like forechecking.

I think he's going to be one of the guys that ends up getting paid too much tomorrow, but on a $1-1.5M deal I wouldn't mind him for the bottom 6.

So it’s back to CMac being the decision maker now that you’re unsatisfied with the quantity of moves.

A couple of weeks ago, you were complaining that we weren’t gonna have much turnover and we’d be bringing back the same team. Now we’ve swapped out our middle 6 Cs and are overhauling a big chunk of the bottom 6 that was awful last year… and you’re still complaining.

It's time... Murray is pushing 70 and he's earned the right to do whatever he wants. His contract ends today, and if he wants (and I think he has accepted but no real idea) he has an advisor role waiting for him. John Rosso also needs his chance to lead a group. He's an incredibly bright hockey mind that Tampa will lose if he's not given a shot to lead a department.

I wanted Hathaway last year when he was still with the Caps. There's actually some good bottom-6 options out on the market.

Hathaway and JVR? Sorry for my fixation on JVR...just think JVR is a perfect in front of the net presence on the second PP and third line.

Yeah there's quite a few bottom 6 guys I like tbh.

Hathaway, Sheary, Acciari, Bonino, Engvall, Fast, Wood, Motte, Toews, Janmark... And some more offensive guys like Kessel and JVR.

I think the Avs will do a decent job building the bottom 6 tomorrow. Its that last Top 6 forward slot I'm a bit concerned about.

So I was told by all you all the other day that CMac is the guy you have to give him credit etc. Ok, so I reference CMac as the GM/guy in charge and being told that's not right either not really sure what to do about that. I guess I'll just go vague and say "they" have to make moves.

2 guys have changed so far. That's it. I'm expecting Cogs and Malgin back. That eliminates 2 spots. Wouldn't be shocked if Eller gets a run back either at 4C. So possibly 3. So maybe a few new bargain/dumpster dives and call it a summer, looks fairly plausible.

So maybe 5 to 6 tops new guys. So I guess my initial prediction wasn't too far off. I'm hoping I'm wrong and we make some quality moves, but after the draft, I'm not feeling very good about the direction.

Agreed. The most important piece of the bottom 6 is in place, Colton at the 3C. I’m not concerned about bottom 6 wingers.

The only part that can really cause issue is not getting the proper winger for the top 6. That creates the problem of constantly having to rotate players to see what works.
