Its cold but should be understandable by all parties involved that the best course for the future of the Avs is to presume Landy won't be back and deal with the consequences if/when he does return as its the far less likely outcome. Its clear by the nature of their off season moves that they aren't thinking this way which will likely limit team performance next year and beyond. Just as example, I think they would be far more committed to make a trade for a player like Linholm, if they knew Landy wouldn't be back. Its a different form of the same hand cuffs that kept them from being a player at last year's deadline.

What did you think of Drouin last year when he did play?
He's coming from so far that i have little expectations . I'm hoping for a miracle from Mac who could turn him into a 50pts + players . Drouin needed professional help and i hope he was able to get it, if not, then we better set the bar very low.

Mack had to grow out of his own head, but he had Landy, EJ, and Sid. Should be interesting I think.

Hi doc, I have a rash on my genitals, should I be worried?

I agree with this. Can't be avoiding potential moves assuming that a guy who will miss two full seasons will be back at some point maybe next season.

The assumption should be he's never playing again and if he does you cross that bridge when it comes up.

We are wasting prime 29, 96, and 8 years by tip toeing around the Landy issue. Like you said it shows with last deadlines bullshit and this offseasons kind of so so just moving where the problems are antics.

The 3rd liner prophecy is coming true:sarcasm: Honestly if he Is just Dustin Brown now I’d still like him but at 7M that would be rough.
Knowing everything that we know now, I’d still sign him to his contract. We don’t win the Cup last year without him, plain and simple. If he walks in UFA, the team goes no where.

I’ll take that trade off

I would too. Even if he can’t be our top LW anymore he still brings a lot to the table on and off the ice but until the cap rises significantly his cap hit will hurt.

Welcome to the party on that joke. He'll be a bad ass winger for Colton in the playoffs.

He captained this shit show all the way to a Cup after 10 years of suck, a lot of it he was a part of bad teams and an organization not giving a shit about it's defense.

He can play on the 4th line for 7M for all he wants.

How many players have been out for injury 2 full seasons and came back to play full time? Legit question. There was at Mario Lemieux who missed 3 seasons. Eric Lindros was away for 1 full season twice, but not 2 at once. Forsberg missed 1 regular season but played in the playoffs. Bobby Orr was away for 1 full season, but only played a couple of games after it. Are there minor names I'm missing?

Roberts missed a year and a half...

The Avalanche have been involved in literally 25% (4/16) of the trades in the entire NHL since June 15th, aka the day after Vegas won the Stanley Cup.

The MacFarland interview was over 10 minutes long, and he said the club is still engaged in discussions with free agents and other teams. You're blowing the comment about Malinski/Myers/Olausson out of proportion.
And so what.... this is an opinion forum and that's mine.

Its not life or death and doesn't change the meaning of life. :D

Yeah sure sounds like they are pretty much done with this offseason.

Very disappointing. Not sure why they continue to ignore huge holes every season. Last year it was 2C, this year it's Landy replacement. Essentially we are rolling into next year with the same problem a missing top 6 forward.

Also not sure why they continue to think they can pay 5M to Girard when he doesn't PK and plays 2nd unit PP, and is basically 3rd pairing behind Makar, Toews, Byram and Manson.
I'm not blaming them or casting aspersions on CMac. It takes two (or more) to tango and if there are no victim......err.... buyers ..... out there, then that's all you can do.
