I hope Mack and Drouin are doing everything together this summer and Mack is rubbing off on him :sarcasm: in all the right ways. Just attached at the hip building chemistry. Working out together, going to the movies together, shaking each others dongs in the urinals...IDGAF, let's go!!

Drouin: How was your life since we parted ways?
Mack: Multiple Hart finishes, a Cup, I'm the richest hockey player, and the second best looking guy on my team. You?
Drouin: I have none of that and was chewed out by the media of Montreal. But at least I was the best looking guy on my team.

It was on the DNVR podcast.

Was this released by the team or Landeskog? I think the speculation was that recovery time is generally 12-18 months, but that Landeskog was going to push as much as he can with a target date of April 2024 in the back of his mind (for some reason).

So Landy is gonna be out 18 months from now. No playoffs either. I think he’s done
But he was always projected to miss this entire season.

Nowhere was it suggested that he could be back this season. The original timeline was always 12-18 months. And 12 I think, was an ultra aggressive timeline.

I don't know exactly where it came from. Jesse mentioned it on the pod yesterday that it came out that Landeskog was going to miss the entirety of 23/24 season. I didn't know the original timeline other than maybe back by the PO's so it seemed like an update for me.

DNVR is the source, but I didn't see a tweet or article.

I mean if we are being honest, I think Landy is done.

If you do any research on this surgery and how it pertains to professional athletes the prognosis is not great.

I think we all want him to come back at some point, but there is a much higher likelihood he will never play again.

We should be prepared for this reality. And if he does ever come back take it as a huge bonus.

Understood. Sounds like they’re just repeating what the original prognosis was of likely, an 18 month recovery. I think best case, and smartest even for Landeskog, is to miss this season and have the entire offseason to make an attempt at a comeback for the 2034-2025 season.

Oh god. 42 year old Landy making a comeback would be a site to see.

No point in speculating on landys return, he has no doubt he will return so not sure why we’d have any reason to think otherwise. He’s already working out and hopefully has a better idea of where he’s at before playoffs start.

How many players have been out for injury 2 full seasons and came back to play full time? Legit question. There was at Mario Lemieux who missed 3 seasons. Eric Lindros was away for 1 full season twice, but not 2 at once. Forsberg missed 1 regular season but played in the playoffs. Bobby Orr was away for 1 full season, but only played a couple of games after it. Are there minor names I'm missing?
