NHL is the only major sport that completely changes its rules for the playoffs. GM’s have to figure out how to build a roster that can qualify yet has enough physical and mental strength to endure four rounds. That can’t be easy.

Florida doesn’t seem to have any floaters, except possibly Tarasenko. They all seem to play hard every shift.

Tampa Bay looked pedestrian at best.

Boston had but the shortest flashes of dominance.

presidents trophy NY goes out quietly, seemingly without much fight.

At what point does everyone accept that Florida is just really f***ing good?

It takes a team of pricks with a bit of skill.

I don’t think anybody feels Florida isn’t really good. They are an excellent team with great conditioning and commitment to their style of play. Opponents need to match and exceed the intensity level of Florida to beat them.

Tarasenko didn't float. They all finish their checks.

I hate Florida, but am jealous and want to be like them I want to be the bad guys, throw the cheapshots, butter up the refs, bully other teams. Win by any means necessary.

The Panthers are deeper and healthier than last year; and if they play Edmonton have home ice.

I'm not going to rip on the Rangers' star players too much. Florida plays a relentless style that wears down their opponents both mentally and physically. Similar to Vancouver in 2011, as the series progressed, their minds just couldn't convince their bodies to engage in puck battles.

I don't see the Panthers being that chippy. They don't even dress Cousins and Lomberg, and the post-whistle shenanigans are way down.

And did anyone catch Kyle Okposo during the team picture? His cheeks will be hurting tomorrow from smiling so much. Have to feel good for a guy like that playing for a Cup after languishing so many years in Buffalo.
