The Sam Bennett that played for Calgary is not the same Sam Bennett that is playing for Florida right now. Bennett in Calgary was frequently criticized for lazy, disinterested play. Since getting traded to Florida, he has been much more engaged and subsequently has blossomed into an impact player (that is very easy to hate lol). One of those cases where a player just needed a change of scenery to thrive I guess.

He is a real force, ultra physical with skill, fantastic acquisition by the Panthers.

Florida is just too well built a team, great coach, balanced offense, built for the playoffs and shrewd/lucky moves on defense. that Tkachuk trade will go down alongside the espo trade if the panthers win 2 or 3 cups.

All the talent in the world will not help you if your structure is leaky, and boy they are missing assignments everywhere on the ice. Credit to the Panthers, they may not flash but their structure is rock solid. Everyone of those guys buys into the system
