Nah they do it in Tampa too. I’d bet many teams around the league as well.
That same song or a different song?

Personally, I could take it or leave it. But that could be because I’m not a huge fan of the song itself. Or I attend so few games these days that it still feels foreign as it’s still “new” to me and not part of the atmosphere I grew up with.

But at the same time, if people enjoy it, it’s fine. I wouldn’t miss it if it disappeared but if others like it, it’s fine.

Man, I love that song. Every time I hear the line when he says, “I get a feeling that I should have been home yesterday” it brings a tear to my eye.

I don’t care about the tradition either way, but stuff like that makes going to games more fun. Is it Dallas or maybe Colorado where they sing My own Worst Enemy? Adds personality to the environment.

An arena of people signing along to any song together is cool to me. I was barely aware of Country Roads before Blues fans started signing it, now it's a song I actually enjoy on it's own. Gloria is the same way. I roll my eyes when away broadcasts talk about Country Roads and say they just don't get it because neither the song nor the artist is related to STL, but that's because it became a tradition spontaneously. Can you imagine if a team tried to force a song for the crowd to sing along to? We could have ended up with a bland Coldplay song or something.

As far as the rest of the musical traditions, keep the PP song because it's been the same for long enough, get rid of this goal song, and bring back Song 2 for wins.

Colorado I think does All the Small Things by Blink 182 or at least they did during their cup run a few years ago, but that may have been their Gloria.

Same song and same place is cut off/sung along to. I always thought it was a college football or NFL thing? I have no idea.

I don’t care for the song, but it seems wholesome for everybody to take a break from the game and share a moment together.

Country Roads at Blues games bothers me to an unreasonable degree. Before you try to convince me otherwise, I said its unreasonable, I know it.

I don't mind the song in a vacuum. I don't mind having a song fans finish singing. I don't like it being that song. It's about going home to the mountains in west Virginia and our team is in a river basin in Missouri.

It's like the Chewbacca defense, it just doesn't make sense. Why would a bunch of Missourians sing about going home to West Virginia in the middle of a hockey game? It just doesn't make sense

Doug had a interview with Frank Servalli where he talks about the rebuild/retool we are going through. It's an interesting interview

Saw it yesterday, not really a lot of new information. He again mentions he sees the LA Kings as an example of how he wants to rebuild and hope we can be competitive again in 2-3 seasons but emphasizes this might not always be possible. He mentions he initially expected we'd had to start the rebuild this season but had to start a season early due to bad results.

Looking at stats today, and the Blues have given up the 2nd most high danger chances in the league. Only ahead of obviously San Jose.

It’s crazy how much Binnington bailing out the team has spun the media narrative and fan narrative, of how much better we’re “protecting the middle of the ice.”

It’s still a huge problem. But you wouldn’t really know it based on how people have been raving about Parayko, Faulk, Krug, and even Perunovich and Scandella on the 3rd pair this year. The defense is still bad, even if they’re slightly better than last season. Binnington is basically playing out of his mind.

Yea, I've pointed this out before when comparing us in reverse to Edmonton. We are bottom 5 in all of CA/60, FA/60, ShotsA/60, SCA/60 and HDCA/60 at 5v5. We are top 5 in the league in save percentage 5v5.

Daily Faceoff Youtube channel. The video was put out yesterday
Thanks for that.

Here’s a link for anyone else that wants to watch it.

Interesting admittal of him benefiting from nepotism/good ole boys network at the beginning of the interview.

Other than that, it wasn’t really much new but the guy clearly has a plan. Interesting that he talked about how the Blues, Pens and Caps were in the same boat - the Pens doubled down while the Blues backed off. It’s a fair point as with as many future HHOFers PIT has, they’re way too old and just delaying their rebuild IMO.
