I don’t like so many gaps in the schedule early as it is hard to get in rythim of playing games.
fair point, if you give JR enough slack, this looks legitimate. i don't know it's "nothing", but i'm wondering if it was even "something" based on berube's quote. for instance JR attributes this to Schenn's captaincy initially, but later reveals Berube encouraged this prior to practice starting and told them to "go after each other". so is this Schenn at all or Berube pushing it? if JR was a better reporter, we might already know in the first tweet instead of not knowing 4 later...Do we know this was nothing? Just because they were seen being friendly later doesn't mean there wasn't a legit spat earlier. I hate modern reporting where you report through twitter in 140 characters without getting the full story. But that is modern day journalism. Don't hate the player, hate the game. That still doesn't mean the original incident wasn't worth reporting. I am curious if anyone else will report on this or if something may come of this down the line.
Happened last season too. Last year the regular season started on the 12th, but we didn't have our first game until the 15th and our third game of the season was the 22nd, 10 days into the regular season. In 2021, the season started on the 12th, our first game was on the 16th. Lately we seem to have weird scheduling early on and then a grueling schedule from late October through November.I don’t like so many gaps in the schedule early as it is hard to get in rythim of playing games.
Imagining Strickland chasing clicks as JR's replacement is hilarious given how poorly the Tkachuk situation played out for Mr. Stricknasty last summer.i really hope the athletic finds a new blues reporter because a subscription to JR is not worth it unless you want to read all the other stuff he doesn't publish on the site.

I'm both surprised and critical of the decision for this specific game. I think Binner earned tonight's game after 4 days off when you look at how well he played in the first 2 games.Hofer first off the ice this morning according to several reports so it looks like he gets his first start of the year tonight.

But I love a signal that the Blues might actually be making a conscious effort to manage Binner's workload. And I'm excited to watch Hofer, because as many here know I'm a big fan.
There is literally a thread on this very topic. So who are the top guys we should be watching for next year’s draft? Fairly serious question.
Feels like a waste of Kyrou.I’m impressed with Vrana. I wanted him to play with Thomas from before the season started. Vrana has the best one timer on the team, and Thomas is the best passer. It never made sense to me stacking Kyrou, Thomas, and Buchnevich all on the same line.
This team clearly has to score by committee.
Vrana Thomas Saad
Buchnevich Hayes Kapanen
Blais Alexandrov Kyrou
Sundqvist Schenn Toropchenko
That’s what I would try when healthy. If Schenn is a leader, let’s see him swallow his pride like Steen did, and become the best at being a 4th liner.
I can’t fix the D
Feels like a waste of Kyrou.
I was talking about his linemates.I’d roll the 3 lines with the same so he’s still getting his ice time

Feels like it's going in the wrong direction to fix itHe has 1 point in 3 games. Could it really be a lot worse?
Oops, guess I completely missed it. Thanks! There is literally a thread on this very topic.
So, the answer to Kyrou having a slow start offensively is to put him with a 3rd liner and the 12th/13th forward on the team? We wanted him to work on playing the defensive side even if it in the short term it handcuffed his production. He's been doing just that so far this year.He has 1 point in 3 games. Could it really be a lot worse?
i don't understand what alexandrev has done to merit a promotion to the 3rd line. i'd be more inclined to scratch him and dress perunovich as 7th d.I’m impressed with Vrana. The thing about trading Vrana for a 1st is, you are trading a player for a 1st and hoping that player becomes Vrana. Vrana is young enough to fit in our window. Maybe we extend him?

Said it before the season but it all comes down to what he wants. If he's grateful to the Blues for helping him rejuvenate his career, maybe he wants to stay. However if he wants to maximize his salary then we might have to move him. I'm totally open to extending Vrana if he wants to stay here.
Agree about Vrana but putting Schenn below Alexandrov on the depth chart is absurd. I'd put Schenn with Kyrou as I feel they always play well together.
Vrana Thomas Buch
Saad Schenn Kyrou
Blais Hayes Kapanen
That's what I'd go with. Maybe flip Saad and Kapanen. Kinda weird how Berube seems to be holding Vrana back considering he's probably our 4th best offensive player.
