Love to see the kid doing so well, and our scouts choosing their guy rather than a consensus list guy or even trading back for more picks hoping he slips to their next pick.

His speed and composure with the puck is what stood out for me in the rookie tournament and pre-season, and that looks to be carrying into his OHL season.

Hate to be the guy to say it but is he making Minten expendable? Only if the right package including a legit top 3 Dman comes back the other way I mean?

Go Cowboy!

Anybody bring his name up in trade talks should be shot .

harsh but fair

I think he's a lesson in how much we should target late bloomers. He was making rapid improvements in the last few months of his draft year. His full season stats hid the kind of talent he was demonstrating by the Spring. Compare that to guys like Lafreniere or Wright who were stagnant in their final years and how their improvement since has been much less than anticipated.

Also unless you are getting something at the TDL that is a controllable asset for a number of years you don't trade the 1st rd pk.

Damn... If a team offers us a legit established top 3 defencemen for Mittens we take it and run. Unfortunately I don't think rival GMs value Minten that highly as they're not Leafs fans.

I mean as the "prospect portion" of the deal. Usually it's a salary to take back, a prospect, and a pick.

Looking like a Top 5 pick.
Your posts lately are unhinged, man.

He looks good, but he doesn't look better than Reinbacher or anyone draft in that range.

What is this even based on? lol

You could have left your post as "I don't think"

Menace on the PK

Getting Marchand vibes, I know he's playing centre in London but I know if he plays C in the NHL.

I made this comparison after researching him the day after the draft. He reminds me a lot of Brad Marchand and his production is very similar to Brad Marchand.

I get that but we're deep at forward at the NHL level and at the prospect level. I'd move a fwd for a D all things being equal to level the discrepancy a bit

I would rather trade jamcrock Kampf use those picks plus our 1 st rd pk this year for a dman.

Minten looks good at 19 imagine him at 22.

Hockey Canada just posted the final roster

Who was the last player representing leafs? Ian Scott?

I think as a player it was Marner. That was a while a go
Tverberg got invited to Team Canada’s camp but did not make the team. Moldenhauer was really the last leafs prospect to represent Canada at any level. Represented Canada at the U18’s a couple years ago.

Will be nice to watch him and Minten on the Canadian roster. Been a while since we had anyone there

Do you think Minten is a lock to make the team? I dont follow JR as much so idk. He's looked ok, but not great at any level (statistically at least). Maybe he'd be their 4th line Centre?
