5'11 185 - "Is he even a man?"

Kid looks bigger than 5'11. With his frame and if it's true about his skate size, it wouldn't surprise me if he grows to 6'2. If he were to, having him, Knies and Minten really changes the look of our top 9. If Bertuzzi resigns as well we could be looking at something like:

Bertuzzi (6'2) Matthews (6'3) Marner (6')
Knies (6'3) Nylander (6') Cowan(6'2)
Tavares (6'1) Minten (6'2) Robertson (5'10)

The only Junior hockey I get to watch is the WJHC, so I‘d never heard of him until he was drafted.
He shows flashes of Marner at both ends of the rink. I really hope he earns a spot on Team Canada and gets to experience that level of play.

I’m not going to jump the gun in preseason but it’s clear the kid has a motor and plays much harder than most which is also something the leafs need.

He'll be going back to junior. He's not physically ready for the NHL - was one of the latest qualifying birth dates for the past draft.

Kinda crazy but Cowen felt "closer" to making the team and looked more like he belonged than Marner did when he was 18.

Yes. He’s on the 21 man opening night roster with McMann.

I find it odd that there is no hype or media coverage on Cowan making the team. It's possible he is only on the team for cap reasons for maximizing their LTIR space, and then promptly sent down to Jr.?
