We might well be trading yet another D by 2026-2027 in order to make room for an NHL ready, 24-yr-old, top-4 quality RHD that might just end applying on the third pairing, behind Reinbacher and Mailloux? What about Engstrom, that should also be competing for a spot on RD (as a lefty)?

The future on D is so bright, we'll have to wear shades.

Hopefully, Matheson isn't injured and we can see him play at a higher level that would return a top-end forward in a trade before his contract is up.

Guhle, Hutson, Xhekaj, Engstrom, Trudeau and Harris are all LD candidates that will make Matheson expendable, especially if the return solves a need up front.

The fact that he is right handed is huge. Feels like we are getting all the dmen these last couple of drafts.
We could have easily had Luneau instead of Mesar last draft, I'm still mad about that one. But yeah, Hutson/Engstrom was ok.

Looks like an AHL personality LOL bust.

I don't know about that, besides being a protege of Igor Larionov, the following quick bio facts should generate at least 5-6 journalist fluff pieces eventually

Look forward to Mudryk saying it somewhere between 500-1000 times like Arber with costco
