Topi is not playing on the power play
You would think a kid with this much hockey IQ and a good shot would be on the PP

Roni is looking good.

He played the first 30 some seconds on the PP you were referring to, then switched out and they scored. He's been on for every PP.

Roni isn't the most talented player on FIN or the player with the most upside.... but he's the guy that makes things go when he's on the ice. Either consistent successful zone entries, or passes that lead to prime chances, or getting himself involved in everything. I think he's going to be an effective top 6 third wheel type.

Hirvonen has been so good at making those tight turns around the boards and creating space for himself.

If he can play the same game in the dirty areas in the NHL I would say he will be a very import piece in the top 6

Wjc in general is pretty overrated as a prospect evaluation tool (some absolutely fun hockey though), especially when it comes to production. A hot or cold streak over a few games isn't going to define who these guys aren
Unless of course a Leaf prospect gets on one of the hot streaks. ;)

I’m impressed with that Lavins kid for latvia
He blocks shots. Goes hard to the dirty areas
And shows good hockey sense.

And lavins isn’t drafted

And people still question why you let countries like this into the tournament.

Clearly they are building programs where they can at least compete in games now and it's great to get more kids involved in the game in those countries.
Not gonna be able to grow the game if we don't keep investing in these countries

( And make it affordable in Canada but that's another issue)

It's pretty sad the conversation is still there about which countries should be let into the tournament. Latvia has earned it

You have to win a second division tournament to get in

I would argue every team deserves it solely based on that. Considering there's like 4 good teams I don't know what people want. Not like we didn't murder the Czechs and Slovaks as well

I remember when Canada got beat by Andropov that one year and came 5/6th

That was the 1998 WJC Kazakhstan won 6-3. Canada finished in 8th. After 5 straight golds.

I was really looking forward to this Sweden/U.S game but it's been a little disappointing.

So thoughts on the Finland - Canada game?

Canada win?
Finland win with Leafs prospects doing the damage?
Canada win with Leafs prospects being the best on the ice?

Don't bloodywell care?

Honestly, finding myself more and more in the final option group.
