But he doesn't look slower than his peersIf Hirvonen's footspeed can translate to the pro game, we'll have a very valuable player.
Good vision, great hands, good playmaking ability, good hockeysense and goes to the front of the net and will be involved in the greasy goals. Almost a throwback type player with his high level skill but quite feisty and physical.
His playstyle looks similar to Marchand but just a step slower.
Maybe. McTavish was pretty spectacular tonight. Is this just a tournament to let Canada and the US warm up before they meet in the final?

I've noticed a lot of the US players tend to look eachother off and go for a shot first, even if it's not from a good spot.Cooley is a puck hog
Knies all alone in front and cooley decides to try to beat 4 players on the way to the net
I question cooley and his hockey IQ
Luke hughes looks impressive
Lackluster start from knies. 0 points, 12 US goals.
Cooley isnt a good fit for Knies:I disagree, he had his chances used his body to win pucks and showed he wasn't scared to dig in the corners. Whenever the was a rebound infront of the net he caused the German defense problems.
Could of had 2 goals tonight. Didn't look slow, had good hands.
Needs to work more on his agility and edges, maybe a harder shot. He was noticable to me.
Did get he any PP1 time last night?Lackluster start from knies. 0 points, 12 US goals.
Cooley isnt a good fit for Knies
Isn't the general consensus the opposite?I also consider the fact that this tourney is in mid-summer and some guys aren’t in mid-season form like they normally would be in this tournament.
It’s a grinders tournament where teams that play the best systematically and work the hardest will win out. Winning on skill alone is tough to do when you haven’t played meaningful games in a few months.
Luckily, they get to play together all year. A lot of undisciplined game for Cooley, but he does have talent. Knies just isn't clicking with these guys. He's doing a lot right, but isn't being rewarded on the score sheet. Knies is a pretty big kid, but he doesn't strike me as being that strong, and will need to increase his strength to be a "power forward" in the NHL.
Did he click at the prospects camp?
Just asking, I heard he didn't produce much there either.
No, disappointing development camp, and disappointing start to the WJC. You can see there’s definite talent and upside there, but I think he’s clearly not as far along as many thought he was. Agreed with the comments that he needs to work on his skating and conditioning - he looks a bit slow out there.Did he click at the prospects camp?

He is looking slow... skating and conditioning should be the focus.. keep it simple
Everyfhing else is there.. edges size skill awareness
