How is it on the province of Alberta to set up the bubble? Seems like something that the IIHF would be in charge of, logistically speaking.

I had the impression that the hosting cities/provinces worked with the IIHF to assist with setting up the living arrangements and work out the terms of the tourny. If that is incorrect, I stand to be corrected.

We have to account for the fact that a large percentage of people struggled/got pushed through the public education/baby sitting system so they can struggle with stuff like this.
And there is a significant portion of the world leveraging information for nefarious reasons. The amount of misinformation quoted as fact is incredible.

No worries. I'm back under my bed, boosted to the max, triple-masked, with my Grub Hub order on the way, perusing the latest Netflix offerings.

Things are getting back to normal.
It's not about you, but nice that you are doing your part.

They will be destroyed by KHL players
Not if all teams have to send U20 teams. Won’t happen, and denying KHL/SHL/NLA/Liiga/DEL stars a chance at the Olympics in favor of juniors would be strange. But more entertaining.

What the hell was their plan in the first place??? That no one would test positive at any point??? Why not do a proper bubble for a short tournament???

"Just a few more weeks hold on there buddy"

I'm so tired. Feels like this will never end. I know it sounds petty to complain about not getting to watch a kids sport tournament while people are dying but it really hurts going one step forward and eight steps back constantly with this pandemic.

And don't lecture me about why everything is happening. Just let me be sad.

Strategically speaking, they should have moved the tournament to spring even if stanley cup playoffs or alternatively olympics would happen simultaneously. That would have given them enough time to organize a proper bubble. Also in the real world the current spike would be over.

True, wasn’t blaming the attendance for this, more just implying that the whole thing happening at all was taking a chance

Understood. :)

I feel for the players, stuck in the middle of incredibly inept event management and planning by the organizers.
